If you read the article you'd see that it's the voters. Guys like you and Superfreak who are all like "I'm not paying taxes!", and then when something goes wrong say "hey Darla will pick up the check".

Apparently Colorado is filled with selfish welfare queens.
 
As an aside on the "Tax Welfar Queens" argument, fascinating though it may be, I heard from a friend who works for one of the powerline construction companies busting their asses to restore power. A mutual friend was out working and was electrocuted when the wrong line was reenergized on monday. He is alive and in critical condition. He is one of the worst injuries, but there have been several serious injuries in the push to get power back on to the East Coast region.

That's a shame. I hadn't even heard about it until I came here this morning. I have been out of touch for most of the week and can't wait to get back to that state. Being in touch really sucks.

Nobody I know here has been affected, I am not sure it is even a problem in NY at all.
 
The first thing I found out when I turned on my computer this morning was that three kids were killed last night on Long Island Sound when a boat overturned. 8, 11, & 12. There were 27 people on the boat and all the adults survived. I don't know the details yet, but I admit I kinda don't get how you come up without your kid. Maybe it sunk fast and there was no chance. The three kids were all found in the boat's cabin. It was a 34 footer and way overpacked to begin with. But more than one parent came up without their kid. I guess it is confusing and they could have thought/hoped their kid was pulled out because the Sound was incredibly crowded last night and other boat owners immediately started pulling survivors out of the water. I don't know. But just really tragic. Fucked up.

They could have thought they were off the boat. But I cannot imagine not knowing where my kids were or coming up until I knew.

They're all named Hickenlooper. Although it is Federal land burning... Maybe Obama can do something about that. Like tax the Feds if they have fires.

I guess it's hard to imagine what it's like being in a situation like that. The boat flipped fast, and apparently sunk fast. I am trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. They paid the ultimate price either way. Well, their kids did.
