Why would doctors need to know if you have a gun?

he might want to tell them that gun ownership shortens the life expectancy of themselves and their families

studies have shown (sorry no link) that a gun in the house is more likely to be used against a family member than anyone else - whether accidently or intentionally

gun safes lower this likelihood, but then it would not be handy during a domestic dispute or a robbery...

Except that study has been shown to be massively flawed. Over 80% of the gun related fatalities were suicides. The next largest portion goes to domestic violence (both offensive and defensive).

I dunno but I had to show ID and sign paper to buy them.

A wedding shower registry at Wall Mart?

That isn't necessarily "registered"... Doing a quick background check where they afterward destroy the paperwork for the check (required by the law) isn't a registry. The only registry that I know of would be for fully auto weapons and for that you need a license.

Uhhh no, possession is prohibited as well.

Not at the federal level and in KY it is not at all.
It takes a seperate court action to retrieve held guns from those baker acted. Which means involuntarially comited to a mental institution becuase they are by definition a danger to themselves or others.

I know I checked up thru the state level.

Checked with the commandant of the state police and the state attorney general.

Close, but no. Technically all FFL records are to be sent to the ATF after you give up your license (or lose it). There they will be held for 5 years and then 'destroyed'. But since the ATF makes up their own rules on everything, this is doubtful.

As for NFA items the following require federal registry. Any and ALL machine guns/fully automatics, SBS/SBR types (short barrelled rifles and shotguns[less than 16 inches for a rifle barrel or 26 inches over all, less than 18 inches for a shotgun barrel or 26 inches overall]), sound suppressors (silencers [safety equipment]), Destructive devices (things that go boom like grenades, RPGs, tank shells, rifles/shotguns that do not have a 'sporting exemption' letter from the ATF over .50 caliber in diameter [more of them making up their own rules]) and AOWs (any Other Weapons, these includes pistols with a foregrip, certain types of shotguns, and a bunch of other things that the ATF gets to make up).

In general, you do not need a license for these items. Exceptions are for machine guns (which the ATF has counted shoe strings as) made after 1986. These recuire a Title1 FFL with a class 3 tax stamp. Certain DD's require explosive licenses as well.

Yes, it is federally prohibited for persons who are mentally unstable (I.E. being involuntarily committed) to possess firearms. Just like people who get felonies. They don't get to keep the guns they bought.

It may be illegal but there is no mechanism in place to retrieve the guns in posession of those adjudged to be mentally unstable and a danger to themselves or others.

Please show the relevant law.
Since you know more than my state police or state attorney general.

I really do not feel like sifting through all the pages upon pages of the GCA of 68, where that stuff is outlined. Seriously, it's 243 pages long.

IVAN TELL DOCTOR SAME THING HE TELLS LOCAL POLICE. THERE IS NO GUNS HERE, IVAN IS EASY TO ROB. THEN IVAN WAITS TO SEE IF FOOLS TAKE BAIT. SOON NO DOCTORS ASK IVAN ANYTHING IVAN DOES NOT TELL THEM, AND GIVE HIM DOUBLE RATION COUPONS.

I would just answer "N/A"...

Seriously, even with them trying to say its about suicide... it's just none of their business.

So you should be legally prohibited from broaching the subject? Fucking ridiculous. Why are gun owners tyrannizing us? Demanding that we bow to them at every turn? We need to get our own guns, and put gun owners in their place, before we restore the constitution that was marred by the Keller decision and ban guns once and for all from this once great land.

Good luck with that, Bubbles.
