Annoy the media...

I belive a third and or fourth party would be very good for America. Many belive otherwise but personally I belive the gridlock, especally when it is for political gain, is bad for America.
the gridlock is mostly political, there are times when there are legitimate disagreements.

Having a 3rd party forces compromise, the other 2 partys would not have an automatic Majority in the House, or a fillibuster ready Senate.

It might even lead to real debate on issues, instead of partisian squabbling. win/win.

So the next question is how can we facilitate the creation of a third party?

It has to be from grassroots, get local officials, and maybe get at least 1 person in Congress.
That's the receipe, baking the cake is the hard part, since American's are so brainwashed -some even believe 2 party system is part of the way we govern.
( obviosly nothing said about partys in Constitutn).

I could give you a list of reasons why it doesn't happen -Citizens United make it even harder, as money will follow the duopoly ( not many big money ppl will put their money behind a dark horse).

Looking back at American history, 3rd partys don't survive-the politicians prefer it that way, it's how they organize to have a majority -easier for them, worse for the U.S.
If I knew HOW to do it, i'd be doing it. One of our posters here ( i won't name names) tried to get a Green into Congress, haven't spoken to that person lately, but i think it was not happening.

Look at the partisian hackneyed'ideas' posted -not just here ( and this is a intelligent board), but across all boards, all campaigns

In the end it's up to the American ppl to throw off their shackled minds, they don't seem to want to -preferring to "blame the other guys".
In short it's the Way Out -but no-one is loking for the exit. They're stil arguing over which sideof the aisle they want to sit on.

I guess its beyond the control of the people and in control of the corporations and the government, but I would support some measure that leveled the playing field for a new party to get off the ground.

first of all there is no room to the left of Democrats or right of Republicans for a viable party so it most exist in the middle......since that is the realm of the fence sitter, who doesn't want to commit to a party, it is problematic how to get them to commit.....

I belive that if we had a REAL libertarian, it would likely catch fire. The libertarians we have had are really just Conservatives posing as Libertarians. If we could get a party that promoted keeping the government out of our private lives while also promoting limited involvement in forign affaris, strong defense, cuts in spending and social programs we might get somewhere.

Personally I am a social Libertarian and the opposit with regards to corporations.

one person is now "they"?

also, since when is interrupting a president and asking harsh questions equal to not liking the president?

1) Interrupting him during a statement is different than simply interrupting him.
2) Are Rush, Hannity, Levin, Coulter, et al part of the media?
3) I dont really belive they hate him, I dont belvie there is any bias other than toward what will make the people watch more media.

weak dodge of my question and quite the dishonest goal post shift.

you claimed "they" interrupted him. when the truth is, only ONE person interrupted him. rush et al, did not interrupt him you liar. you can't simply use ONE example and extrapolate that to all the media. you lied when you claimed "they". admit it.

The ONE guy who interrupted him is not the only member of the media that dislikes him. I should have not said "they", you are correct it was only one guy.

perhaps you can give us examples of how the media doesn't like him. using fox news won't really help your case, because i could just msnbc to counter that.

You mean that Fox has a right bias and MSNBC has a left bias? Do tell?

I was really just trying to be funny with my post, I do not believe the media as a whole has a bias, other than toward what will make them money.
