virgina fires another round in the war against women's health rights

Didn't the Virginia GOP abandon their plan to require invasive vaginal ultrasounds a while back?

This thread, nor the story, say anything about the TRAP regulations. What exactly do those regulations require?

Dr. James E. "Jef" Ferguson II, an adviser who helped draft the regulations, asked that his name be removed from the final draft.

He was quoted by the Washington Times as saying he "couldn't support the unnecessary regulations relating to building codes and the like as they didn't have anything to do with physician care or safety. They do not reflect the recommendation from the physicians and the medical community. This is discouraging to me."

The regulations include requirements for hallway width and janitorial closet size.

Utter nonsense. Read the piece again, and pay attention this time.

I read the piece, there was zero in there about the regulations or what they do. It was basically some person writing, "They did terrible things" but with none of the "terrible" described.

This is what Virginia Republicans proposed recently:

Which has nothing at all to do with this particular article. This article deals with a different set of rules it entirely fails to list.

So it's inappropriate to discuss context, seeing that the thread title is "Virginia fires another round in the war against women's health rights"?

Funny...I had no problem understanding the issue. Of course, if you were interested, you'd check the 'temp' legislation that was passed last year.

I didn't have to....said legislation declared women's health clinics as hospitals. as such, they must now comply with regs that address building requirements that have zero to do with quality healthcare.

Is this the reality for women in conservative America today?
