Man calls police on ‘cougar’; turns out to be house cat

Police in Salem, Oregon, responded to a call about a cougar invading a man's backyard. A neighbor who spotted the beast estimated it weighed 45 to 55 pounds. Police were quick to respond, as even a young cougar, or mountain lion, could pose a serious risk, were it to attack.

Maine Coons are fantastic felines. Best temperament EVER. Don't let the size intimidate you. We've got two here that are mixed-breed Maine Coons and the boy is like nothing I've ever seen. It's like having a DOG in the house. He seeks the approval of his peeps (my husband and I), and is the most affectionate cat I've ever been around. Also, he has rallied the other cats to be his 'pals', including our CH (cerebellar hypoplasia) cat who's become his buddy.

A: cougars can make great pets. I know of someone who has one and uses it in lieu of a huntng dog with great sucess.

B: the LOL smiley was gay. Its loss is a positive gain for everyone.
