Defense Of Marriage Act Ruled Unconstitutional By Second Federal Judge

I'm going to disagree with you afterall. "Hardness of heart" covers a lot more than just sexual immorality. If your spouse becomes a convicted felon for murder, grand larceny or any other major crime, then that's certainly grounds for divorce.

Again, Moses allowed it when your "heart hardened" (irreconcilable differences is what we call it nowadays) but Christ was saying that it was immoral to do that. It was what the man/Deity said. Ignore it as you will, but it was the words of a pretty well-vetted source for most Christians... many consider him an expert in the religion...

Anyway, even if you believe it is "evil" the evil actions of another cannot "desanctify" your marriage, only you or your wife can (or in concert).

You are the believer those rules are for you.

As there are religions and even Christian churches that will marry gays, they are as "sanctified" as you are. The only matter we have to argue is the simple matter of recognizing it as a contract as we recognize other marriage, even non-marriage over time becomes "legally" marriage. Marriage in the legal sense has almost nothing to do with "sanctity", your own actions are what can sanctify your marriage, not the government.

I notice you still won't answer the question asked of you. Funny how that is, huh?
The only thing that's funny is your avoidance of my last question.... AND your pretend ignorance.

I'll tell you what. Go on record as stating that no Christian has ever explained to you how gays & lesbians can destroy the sanctity of marriage, and I'll give my answer. You too, Zappster. ;)

Do you believe that any given marriage has absolutely ZERO affect on society?

I believe it has zero effect on my marriage or yours and that our government is not made to protect the sanctity of your life, that is your responsibility.

You made a claim that gay marriage would destroy the sanctity of marriage. I asked you to explain how. You have avoided answering the question for days now. And you want to muddle the issue with nonsense.

If I avoided answering a question from yesterday, it seems that since you have been avoiding answering for days, that you would see you have no room to talk. M'kay?

Also, I have no idea why you think the religion of the person explaining has anything to do with it.

I know Christians, Jews, Muslims, Wiccans, a Buddhist, agnostics and atheists who married. None of their marriages had any effect on mine, nor did it destroy the sanctity of marriage. And since we are talking about the legal side, the religious claims make no difference.

Obtuse or ignorant ?

You have no idea what 'religious beliefs' of a person has to do with the sanctity of marriage? This doesn't pertain to YOUR marriage in particular.

Do you have an idea what "sanctity" means ?

Just google "the sanctity of marriage" and find out all about the Biblical aspects of marriage....

Which have absolutely no meaning or validity whatsoever between two married people who don't read or believe what the Bible says.

You know the answer to that question, Zappa.

What a surprise...yet ANOTHER dodge.

All you homophobes can do is CLAIM gay marriage will destroy the sanctity of marriage, but not a ONE OF YOU ever seems to say precisely HOW that will come about.

Thats very true and absolutely irrelevant.....WB wanted to know what it means, ie. its origin...why is marriage believed to blessed by most believers ....

The words "sanctity" and "blessed" have no real meaning to non-believers.....

Bijou. Bubblehead. Are you going to answer the question, or are you just going to sit there and be liberal?

Maybe you should concern yourself with first answering the question I've asked you numerous times now.

You know,...the one you keep ducking?

How...PRECISELY...is gay marriage going to destroy the sanctity of the institute of marriage?

List some specific examples please...
