Team Thompson ship sinking already?

Ex-Sen. Fred Thompson's lead political advance operative*, Sam LeBlond, resigned this morning, associates of Thompson said, and several other advisers were expected to quit before the end of the week.

Mr. LeBlond is nephew to President George W. Bush.

He joined the Thomspon committee less than two weeks ago.

And, evidetnly , Team Thompson only managed to raise about 3 million dollars last quarter. And donations are falling off...

Maybe Newt was right - this GOP field in nothing but a bunch of pygmies.


Personally, I think Newt should get in the race, and take the GOP nomination.

No one's been hitting him where he's vulnerable . . . which surprises the heck out of me, I must admit. I thought they'd have been savaging him by this time.

Romney is going to start hitting him soon, I think. You mean on his business dealings?

And I also think that the tapes of him now only dressed as a woman, but speaking like one and prancing about with another man, are going to get big airplay in the bible belt as the primary comes up. I think his business dealings will hurt him big with independents and such, but with those bible thumpers, those tapes are not going to play well.
 
When a Bushie became one of his campaign employees, I knew he'd tank pretty quickly. People in the party do not want another Bush.

I don't think red state rubes are happy with any of their choices.

Here's a simple fact: it's not that their candidates totally suck (yes, they do, but that's only part of it)...their ideology has been exposed as a fraud. How can a wingnutter get excited about defending Iraq, defending the fiscal management of repugs, or defend the corruption in goverment the last 6 years? They're totally on the defensive, and bankrupt of any vision or real ideas.
 
It looks like McCain's campaign team are sloughing off like dead skin cells, too! Yesterday a couple of his ad employees quit.

In a few months, Cheney will resign because of "health" reasons. Bush will choose Benito Giuliani so he can run his campaign from the office of the VP.

I've predicted this for a while now. I don't know about Giuliani, but he will resign soon, IMO, and they will select whomever is 'blessed' at the moment.
 
just another example how the corporate fascist neocon republicans are trying to 'game' our democratic system. I just hope our system is strong enough to withstand this assult.
 
If they can pry Cheneys fingers from the wheel of power.

Thompson doesn't want to run. He was pushed into it. He's got health issues to deal with and a young wife to play with. His heart isn't into this race.

But surely you must be kidding about Newt .. unless this is counter strategy to ensure a democratic landslide of humongous proportions.
 
Republicans are desperate or a viable candidate, even going aft one long rejected as a viable candidate like Newt.
I am suprised they have not trotted out Bob Droll.
