The real "war on women"

He makes a living on a political opinion show and clearly isn't just "a comedian" any more than Franken is now. That's an attempt to excuse the fact that they seem to whisper for one editorializing womanizer while they seem to bring out the big guns for another.

Franken isn't just a comedian because he's a Senator. Did Maher win an election and nobody told me?

I think you're way confused. It isn't a "they do it too!" The OP claims to talk about the "real" war on women, and then proceeded to talk about comedians calling people names.

The "real" war on women has to do with policy. Like I said, it's unsurprising that you can't grasp such a massive distinction.

No, but he makes his bones on a political opinion show, not in a comedy act. When you are doing a job other than what people are defining you as it is likely that people are misdefining you, when they do it to excuse what he says because of political affiliation it is usually purposeful misdirection.

i understand perfectly well the problem that some posters have with disgusting comments about other posters - it is psychological venting of frustration

damo maintains this board as a mental health service for the politically frustrated

i do not much care for it either and put those that make a habit of it on ignore, especially if they use profanity

I have never seen him billed as anything other than a comedian. If he has, I would like to see it.

It isn't. Unless you think say The View is a comedy act.

He gathers people in to speak on political views, not to do standup. Seriously, his show is not Saturday Night Live. It isn't even John Stewart who does a political comedy act. It is literally political commentary. That he says the occasional curse word doesn't suddenly make it comedy.
