Double Mormon Ticket...

The part that is weird, getting your own planet, having your own "people", being gods and goddesses!

I respect people I know, but people I don't know, I will tell them why I feel they are being fooled.

Being audited, Thetans,... I always picture L. Ron Hubbard ROTFL at how easily people can be fooled.

scientology is not a religion it is a philosophy

also, it was started as a result of a bet during a poker game

hubbard was part of a poker group and the subject of religion came up - he made a bet that he could start a legal church based on his book dianetics and get tax exempt status - he won the bet

You know, I've heard that before. That's amazing.

I saw Tom Cruise on a program explaining what you said. He didn't call it a religion. He said people of any religion could also be scientologists.

It seems to be a very narrow philosophy with a lot of emphasis on bringing in money to the "church." Some people need that rigidity, for lack of a better word. They want all the steps laid out, no deviations and unquestioning obedience.

Taking another viewpoint doesn't translate to supporting what you call stupidity. I see the Mormon-Mormon thing as being strictly political and the type of thing that's done no matter who's running or what the religion. I recall people saying Obama picked Biden because he'd help get the Catholic vote. Politicians want all their bases covered. They know there's a segment of the electorate, like Christian fundamentalists that would be put off by a Mormon, so it would be political suicide to run two on the top ticket.

I agree with the above... the point is that Rubio is not a friggin Mormon. Period.

i got the info from a member of the poker group

robert a heinlein was a member of that group and the fosterites in stranger in a strange land were based on scientology

I thought they were based in Mormonism and Scientology... With the "Thou Art God" theme. Considering they become Gods of their own planets if they are part of the church, then with the "inner circles" thing with the different levels of Scientology...

Although I do know he (Heinlein) spoke about that bet. Dianetics was written to start the religion he (Hubbard) bet he could start...

heinlein was a cool dude and excellent writer

oops about which came first, the bet or dianetics - i think that hubbard already had dianetics in mind when he made the bet

my source was art kunkin (sp), creator of the la free press which he lost in a poker game

i got this information n 1970...

no, the thou art god 'church of all worlds' was a pantheistic/solipsistic based religion

I googled Rubio Mormon, there are ten pages on the subject, plus one paper, the Miami Herald brought up the fact that he also attends a Baptist church because he likes the pastors sermon. The Herald thinks he is trying to cover all his bases! His office says it is a journey.
Well, someone made it news, someone thought it might be an issue, otherwise, it would have never been brought up for Jarod to find it and is cuss it here.

Cuss it, ahaha Freudian slip of the iPad!

again... you are full of shit Jarod. They most certainly do get called out by us. As I stated, I did put Webb on ignore a long time ago for that very reason. You just want to make yet another bullshit statement and pretend it is true. You have nothing to back up your claim above. Nothing.

So show me a post where you or Damocles called Dixie or Webby a bigot....

All I know is, hardly all we talked about during the 08 primary was how much and with whom being a woman would hurt Hillary, and how much and with whom being black would hurt Obama.

So...

I just don't see it as being bigoted, it's a part of American culture. You can't pretend it's not there.
I guess unless you pretend its not there then you are a bigot!

I am not going to go searching for threads for a dumbass like you Jarod. I honestly don't care if you 'belive' it or not. It is true. It is a fact. You can continue to live in your little fantasy world if you choose.

Unless you can find a website from the Church of Scientology admitting that is true.... You sir, are a BIGOT!

They don't remove the name, they list "resigned" next to it. Actually, it draws more Missionaries to your house as they try to redeem you...

So your name remains on the list of members, EXACTLY like I said it did...thanks for admitting I was right about that.

You are not, however, listed as a "Member"... Not after you resign.

And you've got some actual pages from the LDS member rolls to prove what you feel? You stated earlier that unless I've got "official documents" from the LDS church to back my claims, you wouldn't take my word, so the reverse is also true...unless you've got some "official documentation", you've got just another guy's OPINION.

It's like you purposefully try to "misunderstand" what I say and argue against what I do not say.

I'm not trying to "misunderstand" what you're saying...I'm merely saying what you think is truth isn't what I was taught as a member of the LDS church. You can continue to rely on baseless, third-hand, hearsay...I will continue to rely on what I was actually taught by members of the LDS church.

You are on their lists (as I am, due to my friends giving them my name), however if you resign you are not a "Member" on their list, you are "Resigned"...

Again, just show us all the "official list" from the LDS Temple that corroborates what you feel, and I'll take your word for it.
