Actually, that's appropriate...but try it from scratch sometime You'll be amazed....not that much more work...And actually less expensive in the end....

I do actually make my own Hushpuppies- BUT I USE JIFFY'S CORNBREAD MIX INSTEAD OF FROM SCRATCH. I just add some spices and onion powder.

AT times I even use that stuff to bread my fried shrimp and fish- always turns out great!

I'm a bit of a shortcut kind of guy.

Now I just buy them at Kroger- eat them fresh and save some really ripe ones to dry in the dehydrator!
