US vs Communism can US succeed today as it did against USSR??

We never defeated Russian Socialism.

If the Hildebeast had won in 2016, ... we, like the North Koreans, would never be able to escape the death spiral of Socialism.
 
My two cents: the Cold War is over, and I do not think our interests are served by refighting the cold war against Cuba or China. As a liberal democracy, we ideally should be advocates for human rights and international law.

As for the USSR, I feel like Americans give themselves way too much credit for the demise of the Soviets. It was long standing internal structural weaknesses, latent nationalism, and the efforts of Russians Balts, Ukranisns, central Asians themselves who transformed their nations. Bedtime for Bonzo had almost nothing to do with it

The West is dying, which looks to be terminal.

I will be dead soon, but I am glad that I learned enough early enough that I was even in my teens complaining about all of the low quality I was noticing all around me.

I guess you haven't noticed that socialism under this administration is alive and well. Big government has gotten bigger, fat cats have gotten fatter, and trillions of dollars of tax money handed out in a few short weeks. All without a single complaint from you

Also, we won't be re-fighting the Cold War, as none of the remaining communist states are vulnerable to an arms race. Keep your two cents.

The ONLY way the US is going to die is if the Democratic Party of Marxist Jackasses gets total power. I don't see that happening for many lifetimes.
