It was not a foreign policy disaster. It was a foreign policy dilemma that had he not done something, you FUCKWAD Republicans would have said he was weak and didn't do anything. Because you FUCKWADS were so hellbent to try and destroy Obama, no matter what he did- regarding anything he ever did or didn't do, Obama was damned by you FUCKWADS if he did- or Damned by you FUCKWADS if he didn't. So basically, Obama held off on a planned joint military exercise with Egypt until further notice, he held back the remaining Economic Aid (247 million) they had not received yet, and he held back on some fighter jets not yet delivered, and some
helicopter parts. These were basically temporary sanctions put in place until basic human rights were restored and the killing of citizens stopped and people were held accountable.
The US is not ever going to just sit back and do nothing when an allied country is overturned into a Coup-d'atat overnight and starts shooting their own innocent civilians in the street, or the capturing them and torturing them.
Not a sitting Republican or a Democrat president or Congress we've ever had before!

Sisi wanted weapons and he needed parts, so he engaged with Moscow INVITING RUSSIANS INTO EGYPT-
against 50 years of US policy of containing Russia from military ties to Egypt.
Obama's Egyptian sanctions were a disaster. Obama's war on Libya is an ongoing disaster.
Even his Syria moves of arming da rebels backfired.

Abdul-Fattah el-Sisi was “restoring democracy.”

The disaster was the hostile takeover, and the slaughter and torture of 1,000's of innocent Muslim men, women, & children
by the new hostile authorities.
And yes, there were public outcries for sanctions by both legislative branches, the public at large, the EUROPEAN UNION, and the United Nations.
