A former digital strategist for the Senate Republican Conference, who also worked for pro-life groups and designed social media ads for Donald Trump’s re-election campaign, has been charged with distributing child pornography.

D.C. Metropolitan Police arrested Ruben A. Verastigui on Friday after an investigation revealed he allegedly “distributed, received, and possessed images of child pornography” between March 2020 and February 2021. Jared Holt, resident fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab, first reported Verastigui’s arrest on Twitter.

Why don’t republicans keep these people out of their party?
 
We tend to emphasize the idiotic behavior of each side's most egregious individual assholes,
and although there are many, many more hopeless assholes, on the Reichnut side,
it's the right which usually tries to do this the most. Anything to keep the discussion away from policy.

Individual assholes aren't a wonderful or helpful thing by any means, but what's killing this republic is fucked up policy.
We're decades behind more modern, progressive Western nations, and doing our best to turn those decades into centuries.
