The stupid season has officially begun. More proposed rebate checks.

The definition of insanity and all that... Congress apparently never learns.

There are several GOP morons who want to pass something called The American Worker Rebate Act which would, as proposed, give every adult and dependent child, a $600 rebate for tariff relief in families making up to $150,000 a year or half that if single.

I guess nobody looks at history. Such freebie giveaways just add to inflation.

Supposedly, the cash to pay for this will come from cuts made in government and pull backs on spending that DOGE made. What's the fucking point of those savings if you are just going to spend the cash?

Hey, I have a novel idea: How about none of these fucking tariffs in the first place? Before you guys turned into a death cult you were all free-traders. I just predicted before I posted this that throwing money at people the tariffs hurt is what trump's going to do, further growing the deficit more than his fucked-up transfer of wealth bill will do further.

Nice job trump and Republicans! And also, go fuck yourselves - maybe Maxwell can set y'all up with some teens?

So let me understand your point of view. So.........you are vehemently against the US putting tariffs on anyone elses products that enter the United States but could care less how many tariffs are put on American products attempting to be sold abroad. That sure doesn't sound like free trade to me, Instead it sounds a lot like its free trade for every other country to import as much as they want here but ANYTHING BUT FREE TRADE for our American companies trying to sell their products abroad. WHY would anyone want THAT?

I see Trump's tariff 'war' as a mostly good thing. He's forcing other nations to rethink their trade agreements with the US and set new policies including their tariff rates. If other nations are going to kick American manufacturers and products to the curb, we should be reciprocating. The US has the means, if not in place at the moment, to produce just about anything. If other countries won't play fair then we should give them the curb stomping they deserve.

The US is the world's biggest market and that means there's every reason for other countries to want to get a foot in the door. But if they take unfair advantage of that market they should be kicked out until they apologize and fix their fuck ups.

What Trump's tariffs are doing to the market itself is creating uncertainty. The big players in those markets don't like that. They want a sure thing they can profit from regardless of how it may hurt the 'little guy.' The Democrats are all in favor of those big players since they get the lion's share of their political funding from them, the Republicans less so but still sensitive to their demands. That's the problem here. Trump is making powerful people nervous.

It is both the Republicans in Congress AND trump.

It is interesting that you are willing to admit that Republicans have gone insane, but not that they are Republicans.
What the Republicans have done, this time, that's different, is they are fighting back. Democrats are used to the Republicans being civil then caving in when they throw a tantrum. This time, that doesn't appear to be happening.

The Russiagate bunch look like they're going to get criminal charges and be tried.
Leticia James and Alvin Bragg, particularly James, look like they're headed to criminal charges.
Adam Schiff looks like he's going to get charged.
That's far different from the previous norm. The previous norm would be a lot of smoke then nothing happens to these people.

Texas wants to redistrict. The Democrats fled the state. The norm would be lots of hand wringing and nothing happens. Texas is on the brink of criminal charges and tossing at least 14 of them out of office.

Democrats have gone repeatedly to court to stop Trump with nationwide injunctions in district courts. The Supreme Court stomped on that and that avenue is rapidly approaching a cliff.

Democrats manufactured a new scandal with the Epstein files. Other than their segment of the political spectrum, nobody gives a fuck.

The Progressive / Leftist arm of the Democrat party and their media supporters are getting little play and no traction. Their usual political theater is instead getting them charged criminally or otherwise smacked down legally rather than wanted attention to whatever they're throwing a tantrum over.

It's all driving the Democrats, particularly the Left of their party insane.

Didn't TACO tell us that the importers are going to pay the tariffs? And didn't we tell him that he was lying? Now his own party wants to spend more government money to pay for the tariffs that shouldn't exist in the first place.

These people are fucking idiots.

The Republicans are the ones proposing the rebate check.

Democrats are used to the Republicans being civil then caving in when they throw a tantrum.
It has been decades since the Republicans were civil, and they certainly do not cave.

Leticia James and Alvin Bragg, particularly James, look like they're headed to criminal charges.
Adam Schiff looks like he's going to get charged.
And you launch into the claim that those who disagree with the Republicans will get criminal charges. Just sad.

Tariffs cause inflation bigly. The Repubs do not care about inflation. Their policies should have shown you that much.

Hey, I have a novel idea: How about none of these fucking tariffs in the first place?
Nope. Your suggestion is stupid. It's noted, but rejected. Tariffs are great, and they are here to stay. Enjoy.

Before you guys turned into a death cult you were all free-traders.
Democrats and leftists are the death cult; they can't get enough killing and continually legislate for more and more.

... but yes, we conservatives were free traders and still are. We understand economics and liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We don't want your leftist tyranny, poverty and misery. Free trade is awesome.

So, this is where you get to show how you know absolutely nothing about economics and begin to complain about tariffs somehow not leveling the playing field. Go ahead, I know you are dying to broadcast just how undereducated and uninformed you are on this topic so now would be the perfect time for you to get it all off your chest.

I just predicted before I posted this that throwing money at people the tariffs hurt is what trump's going to do,
When will you admit that you were wrong?

further growing the deficit more than his fucked-up transfer of wealth bill will do further.
Funny, I never once read a single complain from you on this topic regarding the fucked-up wealth redistribution center, aka the DNC, totally screwed our economy. And here, Trump isn't doing any of that and only now are you bitching and whining and sniveling and crying like a fucking baby ... like someone who finally gets the joke after several years.

Nice job trump and Republicans!
Nice job paying attention, Rip Van Winkle.

And also, go fuck yourselves - maybe Maxwell can set y'all up with some teens?
Order yourself a Sybian; you are one repressed cojuda.

That's not necessarily true. Proliferate government spending using borrowed money drives inflation.
There are two sources of inflation, and what you described isn't one of them. Borrowing to pay for massive overspending causes bankruptcy, not inflation.

^^^This. A massive trade deficit every year for decades is also highly inflationary, so pick your poison. On-shoring will reduce costs in the long run, off-shoring just reduces worker productivity, destroys our tax base, and increases poverty as well as inflation.

Not in government. The government can simply print more money. That creates the inflation.
You are using the definite article "the", i.e. "the" inflation. The government printing money is one possible factor in inflation, but it does not drive inflation (note: just "inflation", not "the inflation").

No, it isn't. The primary driver of inflation is the amount of currency in circulation.

Perhaps we should change the terminology. Don't call it "Inflation", when a much more accurate term would be "Dollar Currency Devaluation"

Internationally, the average currency cost in terms of precious metals, or the Yen, is not going up, it is purchasing power of the Dollar which is going down.

Because too many Dollars have been printed with no increase in GDP or Stored Wealth to back them.

The cost of a 1lbs of Ground Beef hasn't changed price much in terms of micro-ounces of gold, or in Yen, but it Dollars, it costs 30% more than during Trump1.

For an old, cancer ridden, cripple who could barely walk or talk, Biden was certainly nimble and spry at spending!

Biden grossly devalued the Dollar. Because the Robo-Pen spent way too much!
