The Democratic wave is growing, just how big will it be?

If Democrats depend on a political backlash on Trump to win they will lose. Just barely maybe but they will lose because they are not addressing the issues that drove people to vote for Trump.
I haven’t seen this message against Trump in a Texas, they seem to be focusing on issues.

Keep in mind I predicted Clinton would defeat Trump handily in 2016.

As I, and the rest of the world, did.

The 'Blue Wave' assumption (like the Hillary prediction) may be just as elusive. That's why I agree with your outlook as of Today.
(Transgender bathrooms might be cool, but a promise of a higher paying job gets the vote)

Democrats are too afraid of losing big donors by taking on economic inequality head on. Hardly anyone wants more social government programs to counter inequality. What the people want is to fight on a level playing field to keep more of the economic pie we produce. Instead Democratic leadership is afraid of being labeled as fighting class warfare which would upset big donors.

Some Democrat politician might figure that out and that would be a game changer. I’m not holding my breath that it will though.

Do you think the unpopularity of tariffs in the groups hit hardest by them economically would be a valid point for (D) candidates to hammer on?

I think the past special election shows promise of gains but keep in mind though Democrats saw large swings in Democratic voters they still lost all but one special election. That’s what Democrats need to focus on. They still lost.

Healthcare, immigration, Social Security, Medicare, tariffs, school system, etc.

Awesome, all good issues. Those are also issues our (D) governor candidate is focusing on, at least she was during the primaries. Not sure yet about our U.S. rep. The SOS office committed some clerical error and he wasn't on the primary ballot; we wrote him in instead so he'll be going up against the (R) rep we have now. Looking forward to this campaign. Bergman was newly-elected in 2016; he accepted ~$6K from the NRA and has offered nothing but "thoughts and prayers" for mass shooting victims since. He's done a bit of advocacy for us but mostly marches in lockstep with Twittler.

"Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) introduced the Accountable Capitalism Act on Wednesday, saying that it will ease income inequality and help hold large companies accountable to their employees."
"The act will require corporations with more than $1 billion in annual revenue to procure a federal corporate charter, which mandates that directors consider “all major corporate stakeholders” in decisionmaking, according to a piece Warren wrote in The Wall Street Journal."

Elizabeth Warren has introduced something that could put more money into the hands of the Employees rather than the Shareholders and Executives.
(I don't know if it can be reduced to a 'Bumper Sticker' idea and be readily absorbed?)

The issue that drove people to vote for Trump was foolish jingoism America is going to be great BY sticking it to the Chinese, blacks, Mexican illegals and Obama.
Dems cannot address that policy choice that got Trump voters to the polls. Every politician and party promised and promises jobs, the only difference with Trump
is he lied bigly and morons bought it. How much "it's going to be great, you all will each get a solid gold rocket ship" nonsense do dems need to deliver to these
inbreds. If we can't win honestly and without racism, or politicking like Adolf Hitler with an open checkbook, I'd rather lose.
