OK, I am not predicting the complete disappearance of the Democrat Party, but I am predicting a strong degree of irrelevance.
The Canada situation will evolve, and over time, Canadians will forget their initial shock and repulsion over the idea of joining the US. As the idea of becoming part of the US grows more and more appealing, the calls to become American State(s) will eventually manifest in it becoming reality. Even if it means taking longer than Trump's term and requiring a new generation of Canadians who want a better standard of living, Canada will eventually push to become part of America and will succeed.
This will bring Canada's political parties into play, and they will likely be as relevant as America's Green Party, Libertarian Party, Reform Party, Socialist Party, Constitution Party, etc. What I don't see happening is for all of Canada's liberal political parties suddenly feeling compelled to unite, which means that they probably won't be uniting under the Democrat banner. As such, I believe that the power of an already weakened Democrat Party will become further watered down. Conversely, I believe that Canada's conservative parties will, in fact, become Republicans, i.e. Conservative Party of Canada, People's Party of Canada (members could join either Republican or Libertarian), and the Christian Heritage Party.
Ergo, despite Canada being rather left-leaning today, I believe an acquisition of Canada will nonetheless strengthen conservative political power.
NOTE: Remember, conservatives tend to unite, leftists tend to faction and then to bicker and then to undermine each other's efforts out of spite. If this were not the case, Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard would have been Presidential candidates, progressives would not have branched off and supported Trump in such huge numbers, and Harris' campaign would have spent money on progressive messages instead of celebrity endorsements.
