So the Smithsonian can’t show that slavery was bad?

You implied it. Now look up the word, "imply."
*sigh*... Correctly stating that in English you would say "You inferred it"... If you are using "you" as the pronoun (meaning someone other than you) they "infer", if you are talking about yourself you use "imply"...

I think you do not understand English at all if you think I said that. That is the ultimate strawman argument.

The only person in this thread that said that, is you.

You really need to consult a dictionary. Look up, "imply."

I'm going to discuss "LOGIC" here so you might need to phone a friend.

Technically speaking the idea of OVERCOMING something does not make that part of the something being overcome. In other words THERE IS NO GOOD FROM SOMETHING THAT IS ONLY GOOD WHEN IT IS OVERCOME OR ELIMINATED.

That's like saying a nuclear meltdown is "good" when someone accidentally survives or runs away fast enough to survive.

That doesn't mean there is anything GOOD about the nuclear meltdown.

Not about slavery.

Those are good things about people OVERCOMING slavery.

Surviving a deadly illness does not mean there's a "good" thing about the deadly illness.
Slavery resulted in the education of SOME slaves that had they been in Africa may have been fighting and subjugating other tribes or eaten by lions. Education pulled them into the 19th century. There are tribes in Africa still bailing water with goat skins and sexually stimulating cows in the belief it makes them produce more milk.

We fought a war to give them rights. The Republicans on the side of the North and the Democrats on the side of the South.

So if I promise in 400 years to give you a really good gift will you be OK with working for no pay living a run-down shack behind my house? Oh yeah and I get to beat you every day if I feel like it.

Will you be happy?

Yes, the West successfully colonized and kept societies in sub-saharan Africa from developing while we fleeced them of every natural resource we could get our hands on.

We fought a war to give them rights.

What war would that be? You mean the Civil War? The war we fought to give them rights after we systematically took them from them for hundreds of years?

How about I punch you in the face and you can thank me when I stop punching you in the face. Sound good to you? If you think it sounds good to black people then surely it must sound good to you.

I noticed it getting bad during Obama.
LOL...that is true, but nothing like this...
While the division is getting "louder", their numbers are diminishing.... Activists are easy to ignore...
and there are no real leaders...
(And there was never singing or a mariachi band...lol...)
I recommend against visiting the USA these days.

Open you eyes. Or keep them shut. I suspect you prefer the latter.
Things are great here... And my eyes are open...so, once again, you're wrong...
(A gentle reminder...this is 2025...:))
