Racist LA Clippers Owner Donald Sterling is a Democrat, What else is new?

That's using the information you have NOW, what basis were you using when you made your comment earlier today?

Perception based on how things were unfolding maybe? I think it was obvious that it wasn't going anywhere without something major happening...and I've barely watched 20 minutes of morning news yesterday and today.

If you've been following the story at all today's announcement wasn't a surprise. Sponsors pulling out, talk of players not playing, fans not coming to the game...

Why are you trying to appear so obtuse.
Are you trying to state that you had the inside information regarding what the NBA was intending to do; because you STATED that this wasn't going to blow over?

In this case; perception is nothing more then an assumption.

What are you talking about? It was obvious to anyone w/ half a brain that this wasn't going to blow over, prior to today's news, and certainly after.

Well, don't we "perceive" and "assume" often around here based on the drift of things in the media and polls. And we state our perceptions and assumptions on this message board. That's all that I see that cawacko has done. Same as any one of us does here on a daily basis. Seriously, anyone watching the AM news could tell guys like Cuomo weren't going to let this go until they delivered the guy's head in a charger. And that's what happened.

ahh yeah we do

Wow that was harrowing. I was really very uncomfortable listening to that. Not because of the racism, just the whole dynamic. He's pathetic. It sounds as if he has some old white dude friends who called him in hysterics because a woman he's somehow involved with might bone black guys or something. Who would want to live with a woman like you you're a fighter! I've heard that once or twice myself. LOL

Not following.

You made a statement that this WAS NOT going to blow over, prior to the NBA announcement, when this entire situation wasn't even a week old yet.
Then you acted like you KNEW that this was what the NBA was going to do.

What basis did you use to determine that this wasn't going to blow over?

I actually thought the racism was somewhat tame, though certainly there (just compared to other racist rants we've heard over the years).

I really couldn't figure out what the hell he was talking about. He just sounded senile more than anything.

His past actions have been much more racists in nature. I am really surprised it took this long.

Again, what are you talking about? The feeling expressed by players, other owners, coaches and others in the league (including the commish) made it pretty clear that this was not a "blow over" story. People were pissed. If the NBA didn't act decisively, and at least as aggressively as they responded today, it was obvious - painfully obvious - that many in the league would not let it slide.

You beat me to it, I agree, maybe, this was the last straw, obviously.

Then why was this time more important then all the other times?

“So, if we’re all going to be outraged,” the former NBA star wrapped up, “let’s be outraged that we weren’t more outraged when his racism was first evident. Let’s be outraged that private conversations between people in an intimate relationship are recorded and publicly played. Let’s be outraged that whoever did the betraying will probably get a book deal, a sitcom, trade recipes with Hoda and Kathie Lee, and soon appear on ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ and ‘Dancing with the Stars.’”
