National Student Walkout Day

pffffft, I did something, or tried to, but as a Libertarian I have to deal with both sides telling me i'm crazy or an anarchist, so eventually I decided to let you both fuck yourselves and i'll sit over here still doing my own thing.

Bwa ha ha ha, yeah, you're really gonna stick it to the system by playing along with the power structure's divide and conquer paradigm aren't you. Your own thing brought you here to moan about kids engagng in their constitutional rights dweeb.

I didn't say I was going to stick it to the system, I said I was going to let the both of you fuck yourselves over while I do my own thing. That I still try to tell you fucksticks that you're begging for slavery speaks volumes for my hope that you idiots will wake the fuck up

Fortunately no one is sentenced to living within your assumptions about them, who they are, or what they're up to. But of course, only you can have your own thing. The fact of the matter is the public has never had to beg for slavery, they just forgot to resist and the rest came natrually - exploitation is what america has always been about.

Wait ... isn't it a little early for a concession speech?

Understanding that losses in the midterm for the party that just won the presidency happens consistently is too hard a concept for you? Not surprising. Also not surprising, that you dodged my question. That's ok. I'll make a prediction even if you're too chickenshit. The Republicans will lose less seats in 2018 than the Democrats did in 2010.

It's all been co-opted by the League of Women Voters, Rock the Vote, The Voter Participation Center and Vote.org (adults).
Hogg's pushing their rhetoric in a CBS Miami interview, I listened to a kid in Colorado pushing it, and so it goes. And, for some reason it all has to happen on school days.

A lot of things happened on school days. Freedom marches. Anti-war protests. Anti-abortion protests -- ever seen all the school-age kids skipping school -- and by their parents' sides -- in January for the annual Roe v Wade Gnashing of Forced-Birth Teeth?

I am so proud of these young people! Hundreds of thousands standing up for what they believe, across America. It's a beautiful thing.

Their cause is righteous, and the reasonable regulation and restriction of assault rifles is an eminently sensible cause for modest civil disobedience.

Rightwing protests against Sharia Law actually seem like a caricature compared to the commendable cause these students are representing.

Actually, when you really think about it, only cranky, sullen, old people would actually find the time to complain and whine about this.

I didn't follow everything that happened at Parkland but it seems there were some serious F ups among the police, security groups and the handling of this kid. But going after guns while not focusing on the procedures and process misses the big picture to me.

So the motto is #neveragain. Well even if they could ban AR-15's that's not going to prevent another school shooting from occurring. And when it does what will the argument be then? It will be to crack down even more on guns.

I'm not a gun person but that's how I see the big picture.

The protests are the public face of our children's outrage, born of fear. As a parent myself, my own fear and outrage -- along with that of millions of other parents -- has been ignored and denigrated at the Holy Altar of the Sacred Second Amendment. It's taken the kids to get the attention of the media. These walkouts and protests get the media's attention, which is awesome, but they don't serve to do much else, except for one thing: They inspire kids to get registered to vote. As our RWNJs have fearfully pointed out -- voter registration groups are on hand to do just that. We (me and a couple of friends) did the same thing during the Occupy protests in 2011.

I predict that these kids will not lead to the repeal of the Bill of Rights.

I think that's a pretty safe prediction. Doubt if *anything* will, nor do we want it repealed. Rational and sane gun regulations do not = gun confiscation, no matter how many slippery slopes the gun humpers try to point to when they rant.

Gun confiscation is irrelevant. It doesn't matter if the people are able to hunt or shoot at zombie targets. The entire point of the 2nd Amendment is to protect the right to possess the very firearms that the left seeks to get rid of.

Except for that whole thing about "the left wants to get rid of" (guns), your post is correct.

I think it's best for all outside of school events involving kids to be on days where there is no school like weekend, holiday or summer/winter vacation days. And, I don't advocate skipping school.

Let it be known. I HATE LIBERTARIANS. Now it's official. Approved by good housekeeping. and fuck ayn rand who created the libertarian tribe.

That's good. Hopefully you also advocate, at your polling place, for funding for your local schools -- including better salaries for teachers, $ for school infrastructure and books and tech and classroom supplies.

Got to love the RWNJ mantra of "Sit down and shut up unless you're agitating for something WE support." lol
