McCain has passed away. R.I.P.

I've been to Trúc Bạch Lake where John McCain landed after being shot down.

I remember US war planes carpet bombing N.Vietnam.
i realize he was supposedly bombing a military target, although I've heard he bombed a light bulb factory before he was shot down ( civilian target).

But those days are old, and US/Vietnam relations are excellent ( partnering against Chinese hegemony as well)
The real reason I despised him was his warmongering- unforgivable

When Mccain was a prisoner, he could have gone home. He decided to stay with his men. He got tortured for 4 years. He cared about somone else than himself. Does anyone want to guess what Trump would have done? I was not a fan of most of his politics, but I did admire what kind of a man he was. Trump is not that kind of a person. We are in a lower position because we have a jerk like Trump in office.

When one of you rightys told McCain, in a political rally, that Obama was a Muslim and hated America, he told her Barack was an American and a fine fa mily man. That he just had a difference of opinion how to run the country. Trump lives and revels in that hate . That is what kind of human being that dick is. You rightys are that woman.https://www.vox.com/policy-and-poli...john-mccain-barack-obama-statement-2008-video

because this should be about Trump?.......

My, my, what a short memory span. I recall the left painted McCain as insane. Now all the faux poutrage. What a crock of shit.
McCain was an incompetent drunk who rode his family's coat tails to a military career. He did act as a true hero when he was tortured for years. He gets credit for that. Most on the Left do not agree with his political positions. At least he showed a modicum of decency in his waning years by voting against the Republican denial of healthcare coverage to millions.

trump is forbidden from attending the funeral. This is an 'adults only' affair. It will be interesting to see how the Orange Buffoon chokes on the words he will be forced to utter in remembrance of a Republican hero.

He was a fighter pilot, which meant he had an ego problem, which explains his last vote on obamacare. He was wrong on torture(HE suffered true torture, "enhanced interrogation" is not torture. I have seen and experienced it). He wasn't perfect, but he wasn't 100% wrong either

Lefties love the guy. That's all you need to know.

It happens that they loved McCain at the time of his passing.

In 2008, McCain was loathed by the Left.

After Bush II beat McCain out for the republican nomination, McCain took to bashing Bush in the media. It got to where Rush called McCain ‘the senator from the media’ lol.

McCain probably thought he was cultivating a good relationship with the left/media only to find out they would turn on him in 2008 when he challenged Obama.

McCain was a garden variety polictician in the sense McCain was in it for McCain, but he was a legitimate war hero. And I agree that Trump should have left McCain’s POW status out of it. That was a stupid mistake on Trump’s part.

May he RIP.

Trump hasn't said a word. Guess they are following his lead.

Guess you haven't been paying attention Old Ass Hole

Whatever he was really like, most of us are inclined to make him a symbol of the America we used to love and admire, the one the Buffoon has torn up and shat on. De mortuis nil nisi bunkum, perhaps.

Trump is a zero compared to McCain.

You could have just stopped at the word "zero" and been just as right.

The comments here and elsewhere from the Reichwing about McCain perfectly illustrate how far down the drain the GOP has gone. I just hope that in its death throes it doesn't lash out and take out the rest of us.
