I support fighting a war like it is a war. The US military aren't police. They aren't there to 'Bring the bad guys to justice.' They're there to kill the enemy and break all their shit into little useless pieces. The drug cartels are declared to be terrorists and that makes them the equivalent of a military target in war. You look like one of the cartel terrorists, you get your shit packed with a big fucking missile, no questions asked. That's how war works.

This isn't some criminal / civil law action. It is war. You really don't grasp the difference, do you? The US isn't there to arrest criminals and bring them to justice based on rules of law and evidence. They US military is there to blow the fucking enemy up.
And, unless the cartels win that war, there will be no war crimes trials for the US blowing those drug boats up whatsoever.

The US did likewise to the Barbary pirates. Since then, the US has conducted military operations against those that posed a threat to US interests many times. This is no different. No war needs to be declared for the US to protect its interests against terrorists who are stateless.
This is, as Clausewitz says, "Politics by other means."

Would you extend that logic to any crime that COULD cause american deaths? Anyone thought to be in a dangerous gang inside or outside America, just summarily killed, with no trial or even evidence presented? Any gun runners or those thought to be selling guns illegally into the massive illegal gun market, including any American?
This Trump admin is blowing up ships that are not even destined for America and heading to other markets, are you ok with that extension too?
And where do you factor in mistakes? I am sure you will not deny that American Intel makes a ton of mistakes and many are very serious (ie, WMD Iraq) and if they can make a mistake on such a serious issue that costs a ton of Americans their health and lives, where they would put the most effort into NOT making a mistake, you can certainly bank on the fact they are making mistakes on these lesser issues. That is unless you believe in a PERFECT gov't who does not make mistakes.
