Let's Revisit Canada as the 51st State

Maybe, instead of referring to Canada as our 51st State, we need to be referring to Alberta as our 51st State. Alberta and Saskatchewan are apparently overly frustrated with Canada over Federal policies and unfair taxation. Albertans would love to be prosperous like a US State, and the idea of receiving US Federal funding for free is hard to ignore. Alberta is fed up with Canada and Trump is offering attractive incentives. Of course, Seskatchewan is in the same boat, but is playing it a little more cautiously, waiting to see what Alberta will do.

I predict Alberta will come in at #51, and Saskatchewan at #52.

In the Good Old Days the Canadians were wise enough to know that they are the Little to America's Big....and that the relationship must work for them to have any chance for success.

But WOKE is a Death Cult.

A very astute observation on your part, and a reasonable prediction too.

I'm guessing that you, like me, fully realize that Trump never actually intended for Canada to become our 51st state. Every now and then, Trump loves to "do a little trolling", as he calls it. However, Trump doesn't mindlessly troll like the lefties here on JPP commonly do; there's always a rhyme/reason to it.

In this case, Trump's "trolling" highlights the fact that Canada cannot survive on its own as an independent economy. (at least not at the standard of living that they currently enjoy, because their current standard of living depends upon mooching off of OUR economy... Notice how they're now trying to buddy up to the EU, looking for someone else to mooch off of? I digress.) Trump's point with his "trolling" is that, if Canada's economy depends upon mooching off of OUR economy, then they might as well become a US state (ergo, the jabs about "Governor Trudeau", "51st State", etc).

Additionally, and more importantly, Trump doesn't want to renew the USMCA agreement (or even to "re-negotiate" it); he ultimately wants to have separate bilateral trade agreements with each nation, agreements that are much easier to enforce and are much more beneficial to the USA. Sooooo, what better way to get Canada to ditch the USMCA on their own accord than to get under their skin so much that they willingly remove themselves from it to their own detriment? That's what Canada is stupidly (for them) going to do, especially under Carney's leftist TDS leadership.

The next layer of this overall development, as you've already noted here in your OP, is that both Alberta and Saskatchewan are becoming increasingly frustrated with Canada's destructive leftist leadership, and the leftists' current temper tantrum over Trump's "trolling" will only add fuel to that fire. Thus, it would be very attractive for both of them to secede from Canada and become US states, and such a move would actually benefit us also.

So yes, with regard to your prediction, it would probably be Alberta leading the way as #51 and then Saskatchewan following their lead as #52.

Well, Canada just elected another leftist dumbass to run their country off the cliff. Why would we want them?

Mark Carney:

"If the European Union works with Canada in order to do economic harm to the USA, large scale Tariffs, far larger than currently planned, will be placed on them both,"

"Canada's old relationship with the United States, "based on deepening integration of our economies and tight security and military cooperation, is over".

I say, good luck, dumbasses!

Firstly, I wanted to get the prediction in before the Canadian elections, for one thing. When people eventually start asking "Who ever saw this coming?" I want to be able to say "You should have!"

Secondly, now that Canada has elected the Leftist Party, I believe the process of Alberta (and Seskatchewan) becoming American States will be accelerated. Thirdly, since AProudLefty has declared that it "Won't happen", I'm now more certain than ever that it will occur. He has a habit of denying eveything that is obvious and certain.

I'm guessing that you, like me, fully realize that Trump never actually intended for Canada to become our 51st state. Every now and then, Trump loves to "do a little trolling", as he calls it.
What Trump did is a standard business negotiating tactic: plant the seed of ideas. Time changes everything and heals all wounds, especially in the political arena. The time to invest is sooner rather than later, giving the investment ample time to grow. Even the most radical amd controversial of ideas will become mainstream consensus over time, so announce them in full shock value early ... like planting seeds, and let the fertilizing grass-roots conversations occur, let the consensus grow, and let the legitimization blossom. Give all Canadians time to see and contemplate daily examples of how it would be better to be a US State, and let those thoughts turn into vocalized statements to friends, family and coworkers, "Why don't we just join the US and be prosperous the following year?"

If Canadian provinces don't join the US, they will nonetheless seek to break away and become independent. I don't see Canada surviving the Liberal party's term intact.

Talk about living in La-la land.

Why would Alberta want to become part of the US since their citizens already have higher income and better health care than Mississippi, Oklahoma, Alabama and several other US southern states?

Why would Alberta want to become part of the US
I explained that in my post. They can recapture US subsidy that they are now losing along with achieving representation in US Congress as opposed to Canadian Parliament.

since their citizens already have higher income
Too funny! Let's take a look at average household incomes:

North Dakota: $75,949 USD
South Dakota: $72,421 USD
Montana: $69,922 USD
Alberta: $57,000 USD

and better health care than Mississippi, Oklahoma, Alabama and several other US southern states
Canada has shitty healthcare. Sure, it's free, but completely unavailable. Canadians either have to pay through the nose for private healthcare on top of the unacceptably suffocating taxes that they currently pay, or come to the United States and pay additional costs, if they want anything available.

You must still be using hallucinogens.
