That's our boy ! Haw, haw........haw.

Simple task. You just crush the opposition with assassinations and jail.
That's democracy US-style.

The US has been at war for ~93% of the time it has been a nation and currently supports 3/4's of the world's military dictatorships. That's just who and what we are.

Incidentally- how's the democracy in Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine coming along ? Still pining for the Izraeli model ? Haw, haw.........haw.

Turkish president Erdogan denounces Egypt's Sisi over executions

Erdogan says he will 'never talk to someone like' Sisi and called for release of Muslim Brotherhood prisoners in Egypt.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sharply criticised his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah el-Sisi after the recent execution of nine people in Egypt, saying he refused to talk to "someone like him".

"They killed nine young people recently. This is not something we can accept," Erdogan said on Saturday in an interview with Turkish TV channels CNN-Turk and Kanal D, referring to the execution on Wednesday of men sentenced for the murder of the Egyptian prosecutor general in 2015.

"Of course, we are going to be told that it is a decision of the judiciary, but there, justice, elections, all that, are nonsense. There is an authoritarian system, even totalitarian," Erdogan added.

Silence from Washington. Of course. After Kashoggi the execution of political critics is fashionable.

In a statement on Tuesday, Amnesty International said the proposed constitutional amendments would "facilitate the authorities' crackdown on freedom of expression, association and assembly, erode people's rights, and exacerbate the human rights crisis in the country".

Egyptian economy shows positive signs of recovery and growth
https://africandailyvoice.com/en/2019/04/18/egyptian-economy-shows-positive-signs-recovery-growth/
Egypt is seeking a GDP growth of 6 percent during its 2019/20 fiscal year, Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said on Tuesday.

He said the economic reform program, adopted by Egypt in late 2016, “is necessary to save the country’s economy.”

The tough reforms, which have been backed by the International Monetary Fund’s 12-billion-dollar loan, included cuts in energy subsidies and imposition of a value-added tax.

“The bold reform measures have prevented economic disaster in Egypt,” the prime minister said.

The unemployment rate has declined to 8.9 percent in 2018 compared with 12.5 percent in 2016 before the country began its economic reform, he added.

Madbouly reiterated his government has been pursuing financial aid and social housing programs, targeting low-income families, for reducing poverty rates.

Meanwhile, Egypt is pushing ahead for boosting the role of the private sector
and attracting foreign investment to spur the economy.
