To get Georgia officials to find enough votes to change the election and to get states to create fake electors.

Good argument except that the Senate hearing featuring the VP isn't Constitutionally required. It's an administrative procedure conducted under a 19th Century statute for smoothing the Electoral College process to its conclusion.
What matters is the total EC vote already determined. Had Pence given in and declared Trump the winner or called for a new election, Biden would have immediately sued in Federal Court, the Supreme Court would have grabbed the case and immediately ruled Trump the winner based on the votes certified in the respective states. States, not the Senate, not the VP, not Donald Trump, decide Presidential elections under The Constitution.
