Fellow Christians, what does this passage mean to you?

Why does a woman have to treat her husband as if he were Jesus (God) and the husband does not have to treat his wife the same? If your savior is not the leader, who is? If Jesus tells a Christian to behave a certian way.. are they not expected to do so?

they don't have to......they are free to make their own choices.....they might choose to be Satanists.......they might choose to be Wiccans........they might, god forbid, choose to be atheists......

Belive what you want, I am trying to have an honest discussion. Ive always thought the Bible is wrong on this subject. The Word of God and the Bible are two different things considering this subject.

yet ironically, you were wrong about what the Bible says on the subject and we discover that the Bible actually says what you wish it said, than men and women are equals.......go figure.....

cite one. and btw....do cite one where the stand alone sura cannot actually stand alone. unlike the bible, large portions of the quran have stand alone verses.

then again, if you actually did your research, you would know this.

let's see you back up your claim. after all....there are "numerous" posts, so it should be quite simple for you to get one.

i have no idea why you keep lying that i don't read rebuttals from muslims. i spent over a year on an islamic board getting rebuttals and links to rebuttals. that is HONEST, unlike you who doesn't do the research herself and instead takes the words of others. i posted numerous information about quranic verses recently and of course you never had a rebuttal for a single thing i posted.

i wonder why

It takes time to cull through your 30K-plus comments so you'll just have to keep your shirt on a little longer.

You spent a year on an Islamic board? Is that the one that gave you the boot for being disrespectful about the religion?

I explained numerous times my experience and learning about Islam but with you it must have gone in one ear and out the other. It's pretty hopeless trying to discuss anything with you, because your posts quickly descend to the level of flaming.

Then they aren't Christians, Christians follow The Christ and keep his commandments, if you don't then you aren't Christian, it is a choice, but once you make the choice you do what Jesus says or there are ire consequences, and there are dire consequences for those who freely chose not to follow Christ according to Christian beliefs.

When you put yurturd back on ignore, all his little groans disapear.

So, Dixie there a lot of women who disagree with your version of the Bible.

I don't have a version of the Bible. King James asked me to write one, because of my profound wisdom, but I said I didn't have the time to devote to the project, so he had to do it himself. I realize people all have different interpretations of what the Bible says, but as so far as we are discussing specifically what the Bible says, it's simply a matter of reading the text. Nowhere does the Bible say that women are to be "subservient" to men.

1Cr 11:7 * For a man indeed ought not to cover [his] head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.

1Cr 11:8 * For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.

1Cr 11:9 * Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.

Nothing there about the woman being subservient to man.

Unto the woman He said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee” (KJV, Genesis 3:16).

Still... nothing there to indicate a woman is supposed to be subservient or inferior to a man.

1 The LORD said to Moses, 2 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘If anyone makes a special vow to dedicate a person to the LORD by giving the equivalent value, 3 set the value of a male between the ages of twenty and sixty at fifty shekels[a] of silver, according to the sanctuary shekel; 4 for a female, set her value at thirty shekels[c]; 5 for a person between the ages of five and twenty, set the value of a male at twenty shekels[d] and of a female at ten shekels[e]; 6 for a person between one month and five years, set the value of a male at five shekels[f] of silver and that of a female at three shekels[g] of silver; 7 for a person sixty years old or more, set the value of a male at fifteen shekels[h] and of a female at ten shekels. 8 If anyone making the vow is too poor to pay the specified amount, the person being dedicated is to be presented to the priest, who will set the value according to what the one making the vow can afford.

This is Old Testament Law, not the teachings of Christ or Modern Christianity, but the original laws of Moses. Much has changed in Christian understanding since that time, and it is only presented as a pretext to the message Jesus brought. This is really grasping at straws to make your point, which still has not been made, toots.

Now you leap ahead a few thousand years from Moses, to Jesus and what Jesus said? Again, Jesus and Christianity have NEVER stipulated women should be subservient to men or that women are inferior to men, or that women should be subjugated by men, or that women are valued less than men in the eyes of God. These are all tenants of ISLAM, not Christianity.

hilarious....yet you "know" i make quotes out of context from the quran. which is it christie?

i got a two day ban stalker for asking a question about their religion. i am not banned at that board and left because they refuse to answer tough questions and call that disrespectful. perhaps you should have your head so far up legion troll's ass and find out the facts for yourself.

lmao....you complain you can't remember what i've told you about my experience and study about islam, but you expect me to remember what you said. typical hypocrisy from you. i've never flamed over islamic discussions. you get upset and angry because i show you're wrong nearly every time. can't handle it, stop posting about it.

i notice you still cannot provide one single post to back up your allegation i posted the quran out of context.

When you put yurturd back on ignore, all his little groans disapear.

yay....i win again, dune troll put me back on ignore because i "bested him"

why does retard of dune constantly pwn himself? and why does the sniveling whiner who groaned me 100 posts in less than one day whine about groans? especially given he has groaned me twice in this thread.

pussy
