Trying to attribute any logical behavior of any kind to Donald Trump is a fool's errand.
Trump has one skill--rallying the support of other stomach-turning idiots.
Associate with Trumpanzees and you will hemorrhage IQ points until you're one of them.
That's why I've banished them all from my life.

Good morning NiftyNiblick,
I have no problem talking to people with different political views. The problem arises when they blame me for the problems of the country and want to vent all of their frustrations out on me. As if that's going to solve anything! And what does it accomplish, exactly? Well, they get a little endorphin rush for having told off a liberal. And what else?
And then that little endorphin rush doesn't last.
So they have to go tell off somebody else.
Such an angry life!
I just find it boring.
Not into flames.
But that doesn't mean I can't talk to the mature people on the right. And there are plenty of them. Making more posts than I can keep up with.
The right and the left need to talk to one another to gain perspective.
Those who do get a lot more out of this place than the flamers.

trump proved it today. He insisted on meeting with putin in private, no recording or transcripts. Why? What does he have to hide? It is obviously something It is something he wants to tell Putin, that he does not want us to know about. If Obama did this, the right wing noise would be deafening. No rightys will say a word.

No, he will never admit anything. And he will find someone else to blame, just like he blames Obama, Hillary, Mueller, Comey etc. for all the bad press he gets.

Debate requires stipulation.
If two groups want the same general kind of nation, they can reasonably debate different means to get there.
That's how it was like when Republicans and Democrats were merely political opponents.
Republicans and Democrats are no longer political opponents. We're now ideological enemies.
We don't want the same kind of nation, so there's absolutely nothing to debate.
You can't debate what you want and like.
The only meaningful debate occurs within the two tents.

Mueller hasn't found anything on Trump and now he's desperate. It's now a fishing expedition. Rumor is he's so desperate he's looking a decade's old casino records hoping he can find something that looks vaguely like money laundering.

Yep. BTW, his terrible PR isn't his doing -- it's the fault of the media that reports it. Just look at the rubes here. Trump tweets something heinous, and like puppets they scrape and bow and declare that it's fake new, it's a joke, he didn't mean it like that, etc. Even if you post the actual tweet, they still make excuses or deny.
Can't fix stupid. But you can sure use it to get yourself selected POTUS.
It is not unheard of for a western leader and a Russian leader to meet in private, with only a translator present. I have heard first hand accounts of this happening. That is how relationships and trust are built, at least from what I have been told.
But it is different when a Clinton meets privately with a Yeltsin, or a Prime Minister meets privately with Mikhail Gorbachev. In those cases, we are talking about a meeting of equals. Cunning, capable, and informed premiers, presidents, and prime ministers. That is not what is happening in Helsinki. It will be an orange colored dim wit meeting the craftiest and most cunning Russian leader of our generation. And the risk of Trump being played like a chump is enormously high.
If Trump got played by Kim Un in Singapore, there is a possibility we ain't seen nothing yet.
