Sorry, we just have a mystery to solve. Returning the thread to ridiculous OP.
We had over 2,000 people die yesterday.
It'll be close to 20,000 on Easter Sunday. Currently 18,860 deaths.

Hello Dutch Uncle,
Well that shows how foolishly naive and mistaken our leader was a few weeks ago when he envisioned relaxing social distancing by Easter.
We have absolutely GOT to replace him in November.
Conservatives, you can rejoice in that event. Finally, you get to be on the offensive and place liberals on the defensive. You really like that more than being on the defensive. I'm sure President Biden will provide you with plenty to criticize.
Trump is, and has been, obviously delusional. He sees what he wants to see, not the way things really are. The good news is the Vice President Pence and Doctors Birx and Fauci seem to have a good government handle on resolving the problems.
As for replacing Trump in November; all things being normal, I doubt Biden would be Trump. What happens with this virus and, most importantly, if Trump fucks it up worse than it is now, will be a great game-changer. Unless some lab comes up with a vaccine or a cure, we're going to see this problem all the way to Election Day. Whether or not a majority of Americans, especially the Independents, feel they can trust the Trump administration to handle it over a brand new Biden administration will determine the outcome of the election.
The usual suspects, on both ends of the political spectrum, will give their usual responses. IMO, it's still too early to say what will happen. Too many variables still in play.
Hello Dutch Uncle,
DT's reelection is tied to the economy. The economy is taking a major dump. It won't bounce right back. We can't relax social distancing just because we pass the peak. I don't know about anybody else but I am not eating out again until there is a vaccine. No cruises, no crowds, no sports, no entertainment, no concerts, no big events. Forget it.
He was already on shaky reelection ground with the good economy. Without it, his chances are a house of cards in a hurricane.
He has really motivated a lot of people against him with all his hateful talk.
The good of America will come through in November.
While Trump always claims credit for a good economy (and blames others for a bad economy), intelligent, educated and sane people can see that, at best, a President can only influence the economy. They don't have a magic wand to fix it regardless if their name is Bush, Clinton, Obama or Trump.
If a President is honest with people, and Trump isn't but that's because he's delusional, Americans will understand why this lockdown is necessary. They won't like it, but they'll accept it. If true, then the majority will not blame Trump for the economy. They will, however, fault him for failing to address this virus issue and minimize the pain caused in both the loss of life and the economy.
Example, the Democrats are clamoring to make Cuomo the Democratic nominee, but does anyone here really believe the economy will spring back under him? Won't he be honest enough to hold the lockdown until election day, if not longer? What, if anything, would really change under either Biden or Cuomo....other than being entertained by an orange-painted clown every day?

A majority of Democrats want to nominate New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for president instead of Joe Biden, according to poll results shared exclusively with The Post.

It's all up to the Democrats. Not my call as an Independent. All I can do is voice an opinion and place my vote in December.Hello Dutch Uncle,
Cuomo is to the right of Biden. This quick popularity is simply a mass sigh of relief at seeing what real leadership looks like. Cuomo would lose a lot of Democratic votes in a debate.

YesAlthough I've never been one, can I safely assume that moderators can check each other for such manipulation?

FWIW, I wouldn't vote for Cuomo either.![]()
Hello Dutch Uncle,
If you're not going to help rid the nation of the current disaster in office then voting in December will have just as much bearing on the outcome.

LOL. Typo on my part. Election Day will see me voting a straight Libertarian ticket unless it's for Mike Pence for President.![]()
The most fun part of this forum is watching those that take their own posts faaaaaaar too seriously. I do think they have mental issues. I know I say that a lot, but all political forums are target-rich environments for the mentally ill.Hello Dutch Uncle,
I had to laugh when I read it. Of course it had to be a typo, but I couldn't resist taking it at face value and making a bit of fun. Glad you enjoyed it. That shows maturity.![]()
