Covid 19: Democrats again overplaying their hand

Major universities are telling students to stay home and planning on-line classes. Sports events and industry conferences, cancelled. Markets spiraling down. The media is having a great time fanning the flames of panic. As usual.

Like any viral epidemic, it will reach a peak then die out. The results are likely to be far less deadly than H1N1: Obama's Katrina.

What's amusing is that it is likely to die out well in advance of November 3, and the dire predictions won't come true. Markets will recover. There will be a run to make-up meetings, conferences, and events.

And Trump will take the credit.

CDC estimate of global H1N1 pandemic deaths: 284,000

59 million Americans contracted the H1N1 virus, 265,000 were hospitalized as a result, and 12,000 died.

In April of 2009, the H1N1 became a pandemic.

But it wasn’t until six months later, October, that then-President Obama declared a public health emergency on what was already a pandemic. By that time, the disease had infected millions of Americans and more than 1,000 people had died in the U.S.

Can you imagine saying something like this over a virus that killed 285,000 people? 12,000 in the US alone. A pandemic Obama ignored for almost six months?

Yeah, true - they run everything, right? I bet they're even tricking Trump into all of those restrictions & limits his admin is setting.

The actions being taken are fairly standard for an outbreak like this. Yes, history tells us that there may not be much to worry about overall, and that this is an "overreaction." But the virus has "novel" in front of it for a reason. Even experts who have been studying this stuff for decades don't fully know what to expect.

Of course governments and leaders are going to err on the side of caution, as they should. But to blame "Democrats" is right in the center of the partisan vacuum.

The question is where is the peak and how steep will it climb. Rightys can stick their heads in the sand and say trump rules, but doctors and hospitals do not have that ability. They have to deal with the infected.
Trump's doctor Fauci does not say it is an overreaction.
