People are so locked into their positions that they have even stopped listening to their "experts." For example. Saint Fauci has said that all of us will probably contract Covid.

Many are counted twice. Strains of the "regular flu" test positive. There are 8 cases in the hospital here. 2 are critical. The GF gets a daily report from the hospital she works at.

I don't give a shit what your GF gets, there are very few false positives. False negatives are far more likely, the test can sometimes miss the virus but if it detects it, it's there.

I remember what Dr. Fauci said. He said eventually most people would probably get it.

He never said all.

Most is not all. There will be some who never get it. It is only logical that those who never get it will include people who a) Are in a position to avoid close contact with others, and b) Actively pursue a goal of avoiding close contact with others.

It's such a simple thing. The disease is transmitted when humans share the same air. Since humans know this, they also know how to prevent transmission and thus shut down the disease: Avoid sharing air with other humans.

There is nothing complicated about it. The first line of defense is simple: Never even get close enough to another human to breathe the same air. Masks are simply a last ditch stop-gap for those times when it is not possible to distance, so they are the second line of defense. And finally, for when the first two lines of defense fail, the ultimate weapon is the vaccine.

It's a war between the humans and a virus. The virus has no brain. Humans are superior because we have the brains.

All we have to do is use them.

If all humans did these three things the virus would be unable to spread. The R would drop below 1, and eventually become inconsequential.

It is tragic that so many Americans have foolishly died of something almost entirely preventable, and worse, the deaths include some who are not right wingers, some who simply fell for the propaganda and made the wrong choice on vaccines.

Propaganda kills.

That's why schools should teach the young how to recognize it and how to think critically to avoid falling for misinformation and making what could be a very tragic mistake.

When any American dies, it hurts us all. Our right wing friends are not our enemies. They are fellow citizens, just like us. What they do, combined with what everyone else does, all put together, is what makes America America. If half the country suddenly died, and stopped doing their jobs, the country would be thrown into deep recession and probably a depression. Sometimes, politics can become so overblown that it manifests into unreal hatred. People type things in chat rooms that they would not actually want to see. It's good to keep the big picture in perspective. There is too much hatred in this country. We need to turn that around.

Rhetoric does not die with people. The way to combat the hatred which is negatively impacting our country is not with more hatred. We need to remain above that. Hatred kills just like propaganda does. Hatred is one of the tools of propaganda. Don't fall for it. Set a higher example. Remember the Michelle Rule. "When they go low, we go high."

I am liking the trend in the data.

We have had our Omicron peak. The numbers are dropping very nicely. We should see the Active cases drop below 28 Million any day if this trend continues.

But that is still 28 Million Americans with active COVID.

It is still very much important to use distancing, masks and vaccines.
