Hello moon,

Sometimes the most useful news on the home front is from foreign sources.

"The US is facing as many as 140 million new Covid cases in the first two months of 2022"

That would be far beyond anything we've experienced. We just rose to 11 million.

It should be noted that the 11 million are only the tested and documented cases. There are almost certainly far more which are not.

The article is speaking in estimations.

We are seeing the Critical and Serious Cases continue to rise.

When that happens, more people die.

Omicron is still a deadly disease. It is still COVID-19.

We still need to be careful and try to avoid spreading the disease.

I know there is a lot of COVID fatigue. That is to be expected.

But understand this: The pandemic is not here to stay. Eventually, the pandemic will be conquered. It will become endemic. We all look forward to that day when we no longer have to avoid sharing air with others.

But we are not there yet. For now, we still need to wear masks. We still need to keep our distance from others. Crowds should be avoided. Especially indoors. And don't even think that outdoors makes it OK to share air. Sharing air is how the disease spreads. A packed football stadium is not a good idea.

Outdoors the risk is lower if there is wind to carry exhaled breath away. But if there is no wind, that exhaled breath is not going away. It is going to just hang wherever it was exhaled. It could be full of COVID. Anybody who breathes in where another has exhaled could be a risk of contracting COVID-19.

The risk of going to a crowded outdoor event is lower on a windy day. But a day where there is no wind is almost as risky as indoors. Perhaps even more so, depending on how efficient the indoor air handler system is. I would guess that an airliner is safer than an outdoor football stadium on a no-wind day.

Everybody gets their own well-filtered air supply on an airliner.

The risk of flying is more about getting to and from the airliner than actually onboard.

Public rest rooms? Avoid.

Be safe!

The US and several European countries have reported their highest daily rises in Covid cases since the pandemic began, as the Omicron variant spreads.

More than 440,000 new cases were recorded in the US on Monday, health officials said.

France, Italy, Greece, Portugal and England have also reported record numbers of daily infections.

That ought to send the meme moron scurrying off to his 1911 Addicts gun chums to plagiarize material.

Dr. Fauci on vaccine mandate for air travel: "Right now I don't think people should expect that we're going to have a requirement in domestic flights for people to be vaccinated. When I was asked that question, I gave an honest answer. It's on the table." pic.twitter.com/lgm5RLD0sN

Charts: Omicron is a Fraction as Deadly as Earlier Covid Pandemic Across the United States

"The Omicron variant is ‘burning through’ the global community, leading to the reinstatement of “lockdowns” and the strict enforcement of mask and vaccine mandates. But there are numerous data points that demonstrate that the Covid pandemic as the world has known it is effectively “over.”
Natural immunity from prior infections appears to have surged past 200 million people — a threshold once touted by the Mayo Clinic as constituting “herd immunity.” The latest research on natural immunity shows definitively it is more robust and longer-lasting than ‘vaccinated immunity.’ (That Covid experts are now recommending as many as four shots is a tacit admission that their vaccine regimen has failed to deliver as promised."

More tenth-hand shit from 1911 Addicts via the meme moron.

440,000 new cases in the US today.....Omicron and Delta

Follow the meme morons and die.
