Corona Virus Peak Watch Thread

Hello Darth,

Yes, the selfish people who do not think of others, or consider national impacts, are very tired of the pandemic. We all are tired of it. Some of us are doing what we can to get it gone.

And very ironically, by the actions of the selfish ones refusing to comply with the guidelines, they cause it to be worse and to last longer.

We could be totally done with it by now if they would simply buck up and do what they have been told.

I’m sorry, but that’s bullshit and I’m tired of hearing it.

One thing the last year has proven beyond all doubt is that mitigation is over rated. One country is celebrated by the Covid crowd for obeying the edicts only to turn around and be ravaged by the virus. Then they stop using it as a good example.

It’s bullshit. In fact, it’s a kind of blood libel and it’s past time to call it what it is.

Blood libel? Oh, brother 61, you’re jumping the shark early today.

40K new cases represents at least that many irresponsible people.

Hundreds of daily deaths are preventable if people simply cared; and thought about what they are doing.

Coronavirus live: second pandemic year to be deadlier than first, warns WHO; Germany to mark UK as risk area

https://www.theguardian.com/world/l...-emergency-calls-for-surge-vaccinations-in-uk

Outside India, the UK has recorded the highest number of cases of the Indian variant, at 1,587 cases to date. The US, Singapore and Germany are the only other countries to have sequenced more than 100 cases of the B.1.617+ variant, according to the Gisaid Initiative.

Bozo Johnson's reopening ' plan ' has disaster written all over it . The UK is about to become the text-book case of what not to do.

"Health experts fear Brazil's Covid-19 catastrophe could get even worse in the coming months, while a parliamentary inquiry into the government's response to the pandemic is expected to ratchet up political pressure on President Jair Bolsonaro.

South America's largest country, previously renowned for demonstrating leadership during health crises, has become an international pariah amid the coronavirus pandemic. Brazil has recorded the highest coronavirus-related death toll in the world outside the U.S., is lagging in terms of vaccinations and is still without an effective and coordinated public health response to the outbreak."

"Brazil's lower rate of vaccination means millions of people nationwide, and beyond its borders, are at risk from more than 90 variants of the coronavirus currently circulating in the country — in addition to any new mutations that may emerge.

Brazil's Covid vaccination campaign is in stark contrast to its response to the H1N1 swine flu pandemic in 2009, when it vaccinated 92 million people against the virus in just three months. The key difference this time around, analysts say, is Bolsonaro's refusal to embrace a science-led approach to the health crisis."

Forgot where I saw it and didn’t save it, but some are thinking 2021 will have no excess deaths because the Fauci/CCP virus took so many individuals that we going to expire soon anyway. Just from something besides the virus.

Makes perfect sense when one considers that nearly 50% of Covid deaths occurred in the nursing home population. These individuals are typically at the end of their lives and to say they are frail is an understatement.

It will be interesting to see how the theory holds up.
