Corona Virus Peak Watch Thread

Hello Nordberg,

Precisely correct, thank you.

Compounded by a leader in denial who sends mixed messages instead of exercising the needed and crucial dedicated leadership.

Not mixed. He sent emails saying open up MICHIGAN, WISCONSIN and other states. He wanted them opened. Trump has downplayed it from Jan. he wore a mask when it is nearly Augusts. How much more wrong could he be?

He has taken a bit of a somewhat conciliatory tone this week, but that just adds to the confusion because he is now contradicting himself.

Very poor leadership! Very confusing mixed messages.

Which Trump are people supposed to believe?

"I won't be wearing a mask"

"Everyone should be wearing a mask..."

I see Trump is going all out to beat Johnson on deaths per million. The UK, however, can beat mere senility with huge mental idleness and utter incompetence. Onwards!

Here's a little simple math:

1000 deaths a day.

100 days till the election.

1000 x 100 = 100,000

We are now at 150,000 deaths.

150,000 + 100,000 = 250,000.

If those numbers hold until the election, we could be at a quarter million dead Americans by election day.

Hello Penderyn,

I see Trump is going all out to beat Johnson on deaths per million. The UK, however, can beat mere senility with huge mental idleness and utter incompetence. Onwards!

It is a race of madness.

The UK is at 671 deaths per million; the US is at 445 deaths per million and closing fast. It wasn't long ago that the US passed the 400 mark, and look at how far it's gone since. Rising much faster than in the UK.

Our daily death rate was down to 400-500 just a week or two ago. Those days are gone. Now we are back up to over a 1000 per day.

DT is a terrible leader. This should have been taken far more seriously. It never should have been blown off. It will not 'just go away.'

Ouch.

Another big day for COVID-19.

Keep doing everything possible to stop the spread, people.

We all have to work together on this one.

Dance, you pathetic communist, dance!

We set another new record for the most positive cases in one day.

78,009 New Cases in one day.

It doesn't have to be this way.

We must continue to spread the word, not the virus.

We have to spread the word that we can do better. We can cut the transmission rate. We can change what we are doing. We can wear masks, keep our distance, wash our hands, limit social contact.

We CAN do better, and we MUST do better.

Attitudes must change and habits must change.

The battle has gone much better in other parts of the world. It is possible for us to do better, too.

Please try harder.

Lives depend on you.

The fact you altered his post with this emoji clearly identifies you as the pathetic one, RB:

While we can certainly work hard in areas to stop this epidemic, it appears that, like a wildfire, areas of the US are now so infected the only solution is to let it burn itself out. This didn't need to happen and only happened because of piss poor leadership and complacency on the part of the American people.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

No. That's defeatist. We can still get control of it. I refuse to surrender to it. We all need to refuse to surrender.

We are in a war not of our choosing, but one we must surely fight.

You are free to think so, but when we have limited resources, we need to pick the battles we can win and concede the battles we cannot.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

You are free to think so, but when we have limited resources, we need to pick the battles we can win and concede the battles we cannot.

There are 4.25 million confirmed cases in the USA.

There are 331 million people in the USA.

4.25 / 331 = 0.01

.01 * 100% = 1%

Officially, only 1% of our population has this.

That is not an 'out-of-control' situation.

This is not a losing battle that we need to concede.

We can still turn this around.

We have to try.
