Corona Virus Peak Watch Thread

Hello Phantasmal,

Fauci and Redfield testified that they have not been directed to "slow the testing down, please."

They both said testing is actually being increased, and that those increases are absolutely essential in fighting the disease.

"“Over half of the nursing homes in this nation right now, over 7,000 nursing homes in this nation, have a Covid patient in them,” Redfield said as he testified before the House Energy and Commerce Committee on Tuesday."

CNN

Gee. I wonder how many of these young adults that have been drinking in the bars without masks and not practicing social distancing have jobs working in nursing homes.

We still cant do anywhere near the number of tests we want, and the tests that we have are no where near the reliable 15 minute test that we need....these two did not prevent that from happening...in fact the work from our experts generally has been so bad that the fear level rises.....if America cant even manage a relatively mild pandemic anymore given our Crap Elite Class how the fuck are they going to save us from all of our other huge problems?

Hello Nordberg,

There won't be enough doses of the vaccine available for everyone initially, anyway.

The first thing that would happen might be first line workers get a vaccine, if and when one is successfully developed and fully tested.

At-risk people would also be prioritized.

Lastly, as more doses are manufactured, it would be made available to the general public.

I do not know the percentage of people who are anti-vax, but wide use of a vaccine is vastly preferable to no vaccine.

Hopefully, enough people would get it that the virus becomes under control.

If not, the people who did not get the vaccine would be the most susceptible to the disease, and some of them may die because of it.

Others could get the disease and develop natural immunity, if that exists. We don't know yet.

We certainly do live in interesting times.
no, do you ever do any research??
The companies are partnering. each is running down a different gene sequence

I think there are 4 now going into "Phase 3" -testing 30k and more

Then when they figure it out they SHARE THE RESULTS and all make the same vaccine. Quick mass production.
Trump ( WH Task Force) coordinated that FYI.

Serious/Critical is still flatlined.....till this changes the doom and gloomers have no case.

It’s actually do or die time for the gloomers.

If these spikes don’t ‘produce’ then people will to start to give a deaf ear to any more talk of locking down over case numbers.

We should have handled this like our ancestors handled pandemics....I mean they left instructions.

But this is the age of the Modern Moron you know...

Listening is almost impossible for these fucks.

Learning even more so.

The big picture in a nutshell:

We took drastic measures and shut down most of our economy in order to flatten the curve because we didn't want a spike which would overwhelm our medical capacity.

The measures were working and we saw the curve of Active Cases actually level off and begin to drop.

We dropped the ball, dropped most of the measures, and young people acted like it was all over, went hog wild in bars.

Now we are seeing the spike we previously successfully avoided.

The Arizona medical system is pegged. Hospital capacity is pretty much at capacity. They are operating in full 'Crisis Standard Of Care.' Doctors are being forced to make terrible decisions.

Did the Democrat protests play any role at all?

Hello Darth,

Did the Democrat protests play any role at all?

Yes, they most certainly did. And it will be nearly impossible to determine the extent to which BLM protests have exacerbated the situation. No doubt it was reckless to gather in large groups and some people even did not wear masks. The only things which helped that situation were that it was outside, (huge plus) most people did wear masks, (another effective measure) and many did try to spread out and keep distance. But many did not, and that surely led to some transmission. The worst of it was people yelling and shouting without masks in close proximity. That certainly was not being very smart. They should not have done it that way.

Even Republican governors have realized that the major contributor to the spike was from young adults pouring back into indoor bars and pretending the pandemic is gone. That did not happen sporatically like the protests or the near maskless indoor DT rally. That was ongoing, every night and in every city of States which allowed it. That had to be shut down. The increase in cases occurred primarily in young adults and it occurred in cities where there were no protests. That's why Republican governors in several States had to shut the bars back down. They had to admit they opened up too soon.

So, we can shutdown and/or better police the bars but otherwise run wide open?

Also, the last record of flu deaths in WV was in 2017 and we had 458. Current COVID number is 93.

It is meaningless to compare a figure for an entire year to one for a half year. Most of the deaths in WV have occurred recently.

No, we cannot even pretend to 'otherwise run wide open.'

Stringent restrictions must become the norm to fight the pandemic.

Remember. WV is not an island. It would be ludicrous to pretend that WV is not part of the USA where the pandemic is spreading very badly. People do travel in and out of WV.

Taking measures prevents deaths.

The stringent measures will be the norm until after the election—or not, depending on the outcome.
