Darth doesn’t realize not everyone is practicing safety protocols, not everyone is wearing masks, social distancing or washing hands.

Trump held another super spreader last night. It was at least outside, but very few masks and no social distancing.

But statements like that are consistently made without any perspective.

During the H1N1 pandemic we actually losing kids and young people. Not as in anecdotes involving profound comorbid factors. We were losing *healthy* kids and young people to H1N1. No doubt, that included some teachers.

Where were the teachers unions then?

My daughter tried to go to a memorial service it was at a bar, the place was packed and hardly anyone was wearing masks. She could not believe it. She left.

Americans are getting bored. Viruses do not get bored. Viruses just keep trying, without ever stopping.

Deaths at another time do not make these deaths any less of a concern. H1N1 deaths totaled far fewer than COVID-19.

We have an ongoing deadly pandemic that President Trump privately acknowledged is deadlier than the flu. We need strong consistent leadership. We didn't get that. People are dying needlessly.

This is no time to let our guard down. It is more widespread than ever. Two and a half million Americans are confirmed sick with this right now. How many more have it and don't know it? How many of them are walking around pretending there is no need for a mask?

That is the thing about viruses, they are simply relentless. We let our guard down, and they are attacking. We fail to vaccinate, and they are attacking.

Those in the Alt Right that say that viruses decide to stop "virusing" over time do not understand viruses.

Much of the population still believes that the virus isn't dangerous. This is largely due to people,. like yourself and the Mango Moron, downplaying its significance.

Opening up too soon was accompanied by predictions that a spike would happen. it did. It is lots of college-age students and those who work on campus. Mich. State was shut down yesterday due to a spike. Trump figured making things look normal would help him in the election. He was happy to take the risk with other people's lives. He never paused a beat.

Perspective doesn’t matter lol.

Ok, let’s put it this way. Given that N1N1 was a much bigger threat to kids/young people than COVID is, why didn’t we see this sort of panic around school openings under Obama’s reign?

What "panic?"

Mask wearing, distancing and hand washing are not panic. Those are rational weapons to fight the virus.

Remember.

We wear masks to protect other people.

They actually do very little for the wearer.

Wearing a mask is showing patriotism, dedication to America, protecting Americans.

We do not know if we are contagious or not. That is why we all need to wear masks.

If more people got this concept the virus would not be so bad.

The ones who are complaining the loudest and refusing to comply are the ones who are making it worse.

So, some aliens have been watching us from outer space for ten years lol.

They noticed how the humans reacted in 2009 when a virus was taking the lives infants, kids and young people and sent note of it back to the Mother Ship.

Then, curiously, about ten years later another less lethal [to kids and young people] comes along and the humans seem to do everything to keep schools from opening; ostensibly, to protect teachers and older staff.

The aliens conclude that humans place a greater premium on older individuals than their kids and young adults.

Where did they go wrong? Or have they?

We have plenty to be concerned about besides guessing the presumed perception of visitors from outer space based on select cherry-picked factoids designed to amuse Trump supporters..
 
Active Cases are on the rise again.

The virus is on the advance.

We could shut this down if everybody was focused on the goal, but that would take really great leadership inspiring people to be at their best and work together in the common interest.

Instead we have a selfish greed-o-maniac bringing out the worst in people, dividing the nation, getting people to fight among themselves.

Humanity is not the problem. The virus is the problem. The virus is what we need to fight, not one another.

We are all on the same side.

This should not be so difficult.
