Hello Controlled Opposition,
If everyone follows his advice we will see a great improvement.
If people go all libertarian or decide to simply 'trust in God to protect them,' (take no measures to help themselves or others,) we will not do as well.
We need to trust in science and listen to our new leader.
Together, we can triumph over it.
If every single person in the USA followed all the guidelines all the time, and every person coming into the country went into two week quarantine we could completely eliminate the Coronavirus from the USA.

It would be interesting to see how many who contracted the virus were practicing the guidelines. One in five grocery store employees contracted the virus. Most were asymptomatic. They wear masks all the time. They deserve hazard pay.

Hello Controlled Opposition,
They wear cloth masks, which is really ineffective. Paper masks are 9 times more effective than cloth. N95 is twice as effective as paper.
But the biggest problem is they don't keep their distance from others.
I only go to the grocery store when it is not crowded. People just get too close. And even when there are few people there, they get too close. That's just foolish. I've taken to keeping a 360 degree lookout and taking proactive action to maintain distance.
Grocery store workers are there all day including peak times. It is impossible to distance then. Crowds have no patience, no consideration for it. Store workers have undoubtedly had to accept that, and then developed habits which they do not alter during non-peak times.
Vast improvements could be made. Stores need to limit the number of shoppers. People violating distancing need to be called out. There is no enforcement of the guidelines. They need to become law. Police should ticket violators. It would be far better if people did the right thing voluntarily, but that is not happening. Because of this, the virus rages on.
Ultimately I don't expect to see the drastic measures I just voiced, I don't expect to see anti-maskers act any better, and I don't expect to see us kick this thing in the butt. What we will have will be something in between what we see now and total elimination for the USA.

Identify all the false positive Wu Flu tests? That will get the numbers down.
There's been a number of false positives at the hospital my GF works at.
Then Biden can be the left's "savior." Will they will bow to their new master?
The fact that we are over 10 months into this crisis and testing is still sporadic and unreliable says everything about the failed Conservative/Trump response to this.
America was right to kick Trump out.
I guess we'll find out in the coming months, now that tests have become more obtainable. Looks like Biden has a head start on the issue. Lets see what he does.
Problem is he can't do anything for another 70 days.
What would really help is if Trump and Pence just resigned right now and have President Pelosi manage the pandemic until Biden is sworn in.
Every single day that the GOP remains in power makes the situation worse. Since they can't lead and don't follow, they must get out of the way.

The virus is in the air. I can't stop people from passing me in a grocery store aisle. Everywhere I go, people are wearing masks. No masks equals no service. The other day, a couple in the grocery store had two children, under ten. It pleased me to see the father tell them to stop touching everything.
The virus is not going away any time soon, no matter who the president is.

Politicians are not the answer.
If Biden is to be sworn in, he'll wait like every other president has. Then, he'll get his chance, and he has a 1 year head start. We'll see....
Well, I have confidence that some politicians will listen and defer to experts.
Pelosi, Biden, and Schumer are those kinds of politicians.
He doesn't have a one year head start. He literally cannot do anything until he is sworn in. Between now and then, Conservatives are going to make this pandemic worse.
Saying "Wu Flu" just makes you sound stupid.
False positives are not that big of a deal. It does mean a few more people quarantine themselves, but the false negatives are a bigger problem. False negatives are more common, and mean more spreading.

Cloth masks need to go away. Paper is 9 times more effective. We should have no problem getting everybody paper masks now. We have had plenty of time to build up supply. Cloth masks only came about because a) they are better than nothing, b) people could make their own, and c) there was a time when we just could not supply everyone with a paper mask. It was a good short-term solution but it never should have become accepted as OK. Obviously it is not OK. The numbers are spiking all over.
Changing from cloth masks to paper would be an easy way to make our war efforts more effective. We are losing the war against COVID so it is time to change our strategy.

Now that is absolutely false. False negatives are more than ten times more likely than false positives. Only a fool does not realize that.
Somewhere along the line, you have decided the best policy is if there is a disagreement between two tests, it is best to err on the side of contagion. No reasonable person agrees.
