Meh it’s a number and a subjective one at that. All I care about right now is winning the east division. Then the BIG Championship. The National Championship by proxy will take care of itself.

The CFP is certainly better than the hopelessly corrupt BCS but not by much.

Eventually public pressure will force the NCAA to have a real national championship decided on the field of play. One that emphasizes winning your conference. None of the subjective “I want to see the best teams” crap.
