Meh...it doesn’t matter. I told you four years ago that he was a garden Variety demagogue who would create a massive division within a monolithic GOP and that it wouldn’t end well. Which hardly took a Nostradamus to predict if you’ve ever taken a few minutes to study historical populist demagogues like Father Coughlin, Huey Long, Joe McCarthy, etc,.

All raised the passions of the unwashed masses with irresponsible and emotional rhetoric and all were the source of their own self destruction.

And so it has come to pass with their brethren Donald Trump. It’s time to move on, learn the lessons to be learned about populist demagogues and the threat they represent to democracy, act upon the underlying causes for his rise and delegate Trump to the dustbin of history where he’s placed himself.

Today is the day where we hear from the echoes of our past ringing in Donald Trumps ear, in the immortal words of Joseph Welch "At long last, have you left no sense of decency?" and move on.

Meh the Romans, traditionally speaking, reserved crucifixion as a punishment for slaves who rebelled. They also rarely nailed someone to a cross. They just tied their arms to the cross and let their legs dangle. Usually they broke one of their legs to hasten their demise as crucifixion was a horribly painful form of execution and is the root word for out work "excruciating". Now if they were real mad at you they would nail you to the cross and provide a small platform for you feet to get a small amount of purchase and wouldn't break your leg. That way it would take up to days for the condemned to die... and under horrible pain the whole time.

I never found the Roman sense of Honor, particularly amongst the Roman nobility, very admirable. Hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians and leginaires and auxillaries died because of Caesars and Pompey's "Honor" during their Civil War and they had no problem sacrificing those peoples lives in the name of their honor. That was hardly admirable behavior and by today's standards they would be considered mass murderers and psychopaths.
 
The FBI has fingered 800 people involved in the riots. The 180 charged now have all said they were following their president's orders. Real patriots are turning the rioters in. But this riot was an act of sedition by Trump, Rudy, and the other speakers.
Hockey stick man is in real trouble. He went to a rally and may wind up with a murder charge.

Exclusive: Proud Boys leader was 'prolific' informer for law enforcement

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Enrique Tarrio, the leader of the Proud Boys extremist group, has a past as an informer for federal and local law enforcement, repeatedly working undercover for investigators after he was arrested in 2012, according to a former prosecutor and a transcript of a 2014 federal court proceeding obtained by Reuters.

In the Miami hearing, a federal prosecutor, a Federal Bureau of Investigation agent and Tarrio’s own lawyer described his undercover work and said he had helped authorities prosecute more than a dozen people in various cases involving drugs, gambling and human smuggling.

Tarrio, in an interview with Reuters Tuesday, denied working undercover or cooperating in cases against others. “I don’t know any of this,” he said, when asked about the transcript. “I don’t recall any of this.”

Tarrio, 36, is a high-profile figure who organizes and leads the right-wing Proud Boys in their confrontations with those they believe to be Antifa, short for “anti-fascism,” an amorphous and often violent leftist movement. The Proud Boys were involved in the deadly insurrection at the Capitol January 6.

Conspirator In Gretchen Whitmer (MI-GOV) Kidnap Plot Takes Deal In Exchange For Testimony

DETROIT -- One of six men charged in an alleged plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer pleaded guilty Wednesday to conspiracy, admitting that the group discussed an incredible scheme to snatch her at her lakeside vacation home and destroy a bridge to slow down police.

Ty Garbin’s guilty plea is a major catch for prosecutors, only about four months after arrests were made. His testimony would strengthen the government’s case against the others and back up evidence collected by informants and undercover agents.

In the plea agreement, Garbin, 25, of Hartland, admitted to more than six pages of stunning allegations. He said he and others trained with weapons in Munith, Michigan, and Cambria, Wisconsin, last summer and “discussed the plan to storm the Capitol and kidnap the governor.”

Mr. Garbin’s testimony will help prosecutors immeasureably in late March when the trial of his fellow conspirators (Adam Fox, Barry Croft Jr., Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta) is scheduled to begin.
