The flag code has an intention, which you are COMPLETELY IGNORING. It is also a guideline, not law.

The US flag should be honored, and displayed as the prominent flag. It represents not the government, but the people and the nation and their sacrifices they made to create, build, and protect this nation.

The flag should generally not be carried flat, but flown free. HOWEVER, when carried flat in a sports arena and honored in this way, it is STILL HONORING the flag and what it stands for. Your semantics and pickiness does NOT CHANGE THAT.
When Biden placed the Pride flag in a prominent position over the U.S flag, it dishonors the U.S. flag by honoring the Pride flag in it's place. IT DOES NOT MATTER if a U.S. flag is flying atop the White House. The Pride flag has NO PLACE in America. It is a symbol of hate and perversion.

The flag can be honored using a clothing accessory (such as a pin or a mask).

The flag IS held flat also during a military funeral, and used to drape the casket. The correct orientation for this is described in the flag code. It also specifies that the flag should not be buried with the casket.

Even disposing a damaged flag is described (by burning), but it should be done respectfully. There is no set procedure describing this.

It is no problem to wash a flag that has become soiled. The flag should be kept clean and bright.

The WHOLE POINT OF THE FLAG CODE is to remember what that flag represents, and to hold it in higher honor than ANY OTHER FLAG.

The ONLY exception is international use, such as at the U.N.
