Oh, no, they hadn't completely lost it, by 1865....swindling and backroom deals and lies were still going on, as well as attempts to assimilate Native Americans into white American society, and there are pictures to back that up. I guess when cheating, stealing, lying and murder are a part of your makeup, anything can go. You'd probably sell your mother, if you could get $25 for her.

It looks like you're painting all of white society with a broad brush. What's the correct term to describe that? :)

First of all, I am not calling them Pagans, I am calling them Mormons. Just because a religen is not Christian does not make it Pagan.

Secondly, there is nothing wrong with Pagans, so even if I were calling them Pagans, I would not be speaking ill of them.

Thirdly, I like Romney.

Finally, I personally would say that a religen that accepts more than one savyor, and that one savyor being Jesus Christ, is not Christian, but thats just my opinion, others are free to have a more broad opinion.

As I said earlier, my family emigrated from Germany in 1865, well before Hitler came around. We have a long history of being conservative Republicans, which, in case you didn't realize that, makes us staunch supporters of civil rights. Its your Democrat Party that has the history of slavers.

If you spoke out in Nazi Germany you could be sure that you'd be carted off to a concentration camp or a mental asylum in double quick time. It's easy to judge people when you haven't experienced that sort of evil regime.

When did this magnificent event take place? Because Robert Byrd missed it, he remained a democrat until the day he died... come to think of it, so did Lester Maddox and George Wallace... in fact, Wallace won another term as Democrat governor of Alabama in the 80s. The parties never "switched ideologies" you idiot, that's the LIE you and other liberals want to spread around, in some sick attempt to convince stupid people that Republicans are racists.

Yes I've read your lengthy theory before, along with your 3-page wiki citation. It's a bald-faced lie. To suggest that my values are different than my parents and grandparents, or that we all just got up and walked over to the side we've been fighting against, and that the Democrats did the same thing, would be pretty funny if it was at all believable. But I prefer it if humor has an element of truth to it. :)

Many people, if not most, are racist to a degree, there are also dozens of other 'ists' that people are 'guilty' of. It is human nature to look for patterns and to make judgements.
Since both democrats and republicans in America, are people, it follows that racism exists on both sides of the political divide. The difference, as I see it, is that many (most?) republicans do not have much of a political argument and therefore prefer to sling slogans and sound bytes at those with whom they 'think' they disagree whereas many (most?) democrats, because of a certain 'liberalism' prefer a more cogent argumentative style.
So republican racism might be epitomised by, 'Obama is a Muslim, black, anti American bastard', a democrat might say 'well, I have my views about Muslims and coloured people and people with green hair or whatever, the important point is, is Obama the best man we can find to do the job?'
In the end moderation and intelligence will win through ... even when there is an ultra right white government in power. Good men and true cannot be long subjugated.
