Cain this all be true?

It depends on how the SCOTUS rules on the law. If it is unconstitutional for the federal authority to require you to purchase something, it is very much an issue. States are allowed things that the feds are not... It will surely underline a need for something exceptional, and a way to find out the best solution. I would run on 50 states allowing us to find the best and most effective program...

This must be the first verse!

Logically incoherent so you know that means it's got a beat the righties here will dance away to!

Please read Article 6 again, the president does not have the right to use a religous test to see if someone is elegable for a position in government.

BTW, have you found the link to where I said Christanity should bar people from public office?

You don't know as much about Sharia as you think you do when you posted the above, not all nation under Sharia stone women and homosexuals, but I don't think you will do much with your ignorance, except repeat it.

So states have more power than the federal government? Nah, but possibly your second "pulled-it-out-of-your-butt" excuse, though slight, could be something.

States have different powers than the Feds, there's this thing called the constitution that lists those powers and an Amendment (number 10) that underlines it again.

Though as someone else pointed out, as long as you pay the fine, you're not forced. We'll see. Obama actually is a Constitutional scholar unlike all of the R's here who read an article at Townhall and now play one on the internets! and he reportedly was concerned, at one point. I do not know if those concerns were allayed in legal opinions he received.

Yes, that is what I said, we'll find out soon enough.

Either way, Romney is on the hook too. :) Even though I hate this health care plan, and know that only single payer can solve our varied health care problems, I have to admit, it will give me pleasure to watch you righties singing and dancing the soon-to-be brand new classic:

"IT was Different When Romney Did It!"

Oh, it surely will. :)
It will be interesting to see how the ruling comes out and if it underlines states rights the way it would if it is allowed at the state level but not at the federal level, as I believe it will.

He's a constitutional scholar that was worried about the same thing I was back when the Heritage Foundation originally started promoting a similar plan... I find that particularly interesting.

Fascinating, you find the constitution "illogical" and dismiss the reality that it lists different powers for different authorities, ignoring that you read articles where the President has the same thoughts I did on the issue that it "may" be unconstitutional because of the same thing....

I think your party should run on the "ignore the constitution" platform. It will help you win office.

Well, you guys think everything he does is unconstitutional so you were bound to get one right. And he did go ahead with it, so he must have concluded at some point that it would be unlikely. We'll see.

Yes, we will. Pretty much it will go by whatever Kennedy thinks because the rest of the SCOTUS is pretty much dogmatically partisan...

And so far, the only thing I have ever said I think may be unconstitutional has been the individual mandate. At least that I remember at the moment. I'll be sure to say something else is unconstitutional if I believe it is.

Excommunication from the country comes next!

I can only imagine what would be said about any republican who didn't capitalize Obama... :D

I remember Bush in office, Bush was almost never capitalized and most extreme lefties would write 'pResident' rather than President. Nowadays I don't see people disrespecting Obama in that same way. I'm kind of glad about that.

Yeah it's been such a relief how darn respectful the right has been. I agree.

Actually I got that from the 2004 campaigns, when the AOL righties did it to Kerry and others. The reason given was that they had so little respect for him they wouldn't even write his name with a capital letter. Then it spread to other Dems, like Clinton.

I wish all you super grammar nerds would get off the spelling. It is a rather juvenile way to feel superior to another. I see many, including myself make spelling errs, but you are a big, smart guy and can figure out what Jarod means. There are many intelligent people I know who can't spell or write a grammatically correct paper. This is a message board, not his college thesis.

You get frustrated and that is when you all pile on him about his spelling. It is so stupid. There are several posters on this forum who write perfectly, but don't have much else going for them. Jarod at least gives you a good debate.

So now Poet is a nerd and acting Juvenile. :)

I love it. :D

That's awesome.

I used "Preznit" for Bush because it was funny. And appropriate.
