The GOP Wouldn't Even Elect Jesus

And the word Christian means, literally, Christlike. I think out of everybody here he was the most Christlike...

You have, in this thread, attempted to ignore that Jesus believed he was God, and prayed to God... Yeah, he was the first Christian, by every definition that the word means. At least by that book you claim to believe. I personally don't, but that's me. You won't see me bragging about being the best of the Christians, or stupid enough to believe that Jesus who cared about your soul would have run for an office like the Presidency... Not any more than Buddha would.
Right. You're not even a Christian, and you're lecturing me, a Christian, on what the word means, its' context and history. Arrogant SOB. Y'all really have some gall.

LOL. Yup. All that gall. Most of my knowledge comes from growing up in an environment where I spent more time at Church in the first 18 years of my life than most Christians do in their entire lives. I have a solid basis for the knowledge of the religion that I share. Disbelief doesn't mean ignorance, nor does knowledge equal belief. I can argue scripture with the most educated of Christians, and have studied it in original languages...

(Let's give this a football analogy. This is like saying that a sport reporter that never played the game shouldn't speak of the rules.)

Again, did Jesus actually believe he was God when he said he was? Did he believe he was the Messiah when he said he was? If either of those are true, and considering he prayed to God, he then fits all criteria for a Christian, even one "born again" as he would doubtless have Christ in his heart...

It seems foolish to maintain that he didn't believe in himself, or that he wasn't Christlike...

Right. I celebrated Mass, 6 days out of 7 for 3 years. Add it up. How foolish to suggest that he was Christ-like...he was Christ, Himself. It would be like suggesting that I'm Poet-like. I'm not Poet-like...I'm actually Poet. See how logic works?

It would be impossible for you not to be poet-like, since you are poet. See how that logic works? Unless you are pretending to be other than what you are, you will be poet-like, there is nothing else you could be.

You've maintained that Jesus was solely a Jewish Rabbi, yet understand that Christ maintained that he was both the Messiah as well as God, given in previous examples in this thread.

Only Christians believe in the divinity of Christ.

You've said that he did not "worship" himself, yet he prayed to God, which he also "is".

You've tried to say that he could not be like Christ, but I've pointed out that there is nothing else he could be, unless he was acting as if he were something he were not.

Christ was not "just a Rabbi", in fact his beliefs put him outside the beliefs of the Jews. current as well as contemporary.

Slice that bitch up, cook with some onions, and go for it; but then, everyone knows that it doesn't really belong to and you're just "borrowing" it. :)

That's not how you requested it....you weren't specific about the sandwich...you said sandwich....that's meat and bread. Simple. Come and goddamy get it. Just like a woman to change her mind at the last moment.

I diagree.
If he really put some honest effort into it; I believe he could become less of a bigotted, hypocritical, racist.
But then, I've always been an optomist. :)

Semantics...I am not "like"...I am the real mc coy. Like means facsimile, dodo. Coke isn't coke-like...why do you think it's called "the real thing"? Don't try me...I'm smarter than you.

When a bitch like you, Mary, hasn't beeen trained; it becomes necessary to micro-manage.
And by the way; I'll allow you to change your mind, as many times as it takes. :)

Oh, and mass six days a week for 3 years isn't even close to what I had to go through. Not even minutely close.

Imagine being honestly unbelieving while growing up in a mega Church. Out of all the activities I had to participate in only two of them were by choice. Israeli Dancing and the Art Ministry... I posted about my experience with that earlier...

I spent every day at church at one thing or another, was forced to "minister" to people in prisons as part of the prison ministry (ASL Translator). During the summer I had to go to their Summer School, 6 days a week, on Sundays I had three services I went to, on Thursday evening another, on Mondays I had to go to Bible Reading. I participated in the Bible in Hebrew classes at the Bible College on Tuesdays (they let my mother enter me in the courses because they wanted me to spend time at the church, they believed it would change my beliefs), "The Bible in" Greek classes on Wednesdays, and "The bible in American Sign Language" on Fridays (Thursdays were a sermon and Youth Groups)... I worked as a translator for the services in American Sign Language (this ensured I actually went to the services, and that I payed attention). I translated again in the Youth Groups, we had activities on every weekend, and kids who needed translators in pretty much every age group... And I taught English as a Second Language courses (actually I liked these, but they took over my Saturdays so I wasn't a volunteer) on Saturdays...

I can go on... But I think you are getting the picture. All of that on top of my regular school...

Stretch that out over 18 years, add a sprinkling of more classes of "the Bible in"... It was a recipe for a Buddhist. Well, first it was a recipe for one angry Atheist... But I got over that, understanding that these people honestly believed they were doing what was best for my soul.

Food stamps ran out....that's why you're delirious. Claiming to be clairvoyant, are we? Girl, you are too many things.

Sorry to hear that they cut you off from your Government handout.

If you want to claim that you're clarivoyant, Mary, you go right ahead. :)

No, no problem. The sandwich will hurt yours, though. Waiting.

If the barb is only caught in your lip, it would be best to cut the eyelet off and to then just push it through the rest of the way.
That way you don't tear up so much flesh; by trying to pull it back out, the way it got stuck. :)

Oh, don't try to "front", and pretend to be compassionate now. You got rope...now all you need is a tree. Isn't that par for the course on and off your job?

Mary-Mary, don't be so contrary.
If you want me to make you a swing, just ask. :)
