The GOP Wouldn't Even Elect Jesus

Would the left elect Jesus?

Although there were representatives in government (the Roman Senate) Jesus never spoke to people about lobbying their government to pass laws that would force others to "give". He spoke of a personal responsibility, not one to force others to give unto others. It was never a goal of his to get people to make their government take forcefully and give in any way, let alone in His name.

On a contrary side, it was never Jesus's goal to get others to make laws that forced you to follow the law of the Bible. That is once again something that is personally obtainable, not something one could obtain through government. Not one law can sanctify your marriage, only you can do that by treating it as sacrosanct.

There was nothing in Christ's teaching that would force anybody, especially not a whole nation, to follow any of the precepts of the religion. Not by laws of the nation, through "progressive taxation" and welfare projects. You have a personal responsibility to help the poor as a believer, it is not your responsibility to ensure that I too follow your religion because of the force of law... You have the personal responsibility to remain free of sin, not one to try to ensure that I too do that through the force of law.

It is not "more Jeebus-like" to give to others through taxation, it is not "more sanctified" to protect your religious beliefs through law by calling it "Traditional" marriage, etc... None of these things make you more Christian. The idea that government should be a tool to force others to follow your religion disgusts me. I don't care if it comes from the left or the right.

He's very confused. His denial of his sin and his reprobate mind have enslaved him. I pity him. He's in bondage and doesn't know it.

You're speaking of yourself. And you pity no one, because compassion isn't in you. I know what a Christian looks, acts and sounds like...it was my mother, and none of you.
Bondage? Odd choice of words, given history.

What a person..."looks, acts, and sounds like" doesn't make them a Christian.

Your skin color has nothing to do with the bondage I'm speaking of. Your racist mind continually defaults to skin color in any conversation you have. You identity with your skin color and your sexual perversion. That's very sad and pathetic. I pity you.

LOL. Very sad and pathetic. You obviously can't show us the scripture that shows Jesus is a liberal. Class dismissed.

What? I'm supposed to point out "scripture", which some interpret one way, while others interpret another? What would that prove? Nothing.
Jesus' own words, usually highlighted in red, reflect his liberalism and compassion. Compassion and tolerance are never associated with conservatives. Why is that? Because that is reality. Can you not see the disconnect? And you're pointing fingers at moi? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOOL. Prattle on.

Well, now...the occasional "common sense" approach. Damo, you give me a headache.

Liberalism isn't "compassion". Show us some of those red words that you equate with liberalism. You're drowning here and everyone can see it. Look at the number of people reading this thread.

Oh, let's see. If a person's actions and beliefs don't define him or her as a Christian, then what would? You're as dumb as dirt.

How does one disassociate one's self from historical fact. The fact that you chose to use the term "bondage", without reservation, to me, an African-American, whose ancestors were in bondage to your ancestors, reflects your insensitivity and your flippancy, which you now try to caveat as "meaning something totally different". Words mean something, even if you don't think so. Then, to excuse your ignorance and arrogancy, you accuse me of having a "racist mind". The very word you chose, invoked "racism"...but of course, you take no responsibility for what flows from your mouth or hand, by virtue of "white privilege", which dictates that a white person is always right, and never wrong; never needing to apologize or acknowledge wrong-doing, because "white makes you right". But I'm the racist. And it's my mind which continually defaults to skin color. And I identify with it, and my "sexual perversion" (according to you). And I'm sad and pathetic and you pity me. Did I get it right? Amazing. That someone could think that way, and sleep at night.

When Jesus grabbed a whip and beat the money changers and turned over the tables and wrecked the place, explain how that was "Christian". Thanks.

I know. How can you think like that and sleep at night? You can if your mind is reprobate like yours.

Jesus was a Jewish rabbi, among other things. Proof you don't understand Christianity or History. Your cognitive skills and ability to reason are lacking. Seek help.

Jesus was a Jewish Rabbi? Only to His followers who called him teacher. To the rest of the Jewish community he was the son of a carpenter. Further, if he had been an official Rabbi, he would have been disciplined by Temple priests for claiming to be God. Instead they, the Temple priests, had to turn him over to the jurisdiction of Rome.

Some people just don't know or understand what they speak of.

Was taking a whip and beating and driving out the money changers and tossing tables over acting like a Christian?

Yes, because he was showing righteous anger. Christ will come again in judgement to judge the living and the dead...He is no pacifist.

Correct. Jesus was not a pacifist like the left and anti-war crowd make out. The left will twist and distort scripture when it's in their interests and ignore it when it isn't. The left lies, cheats, steals, slanders and smears. That's all they have.

He didn't claim to be God....he asked his disciples who they thought that he was.

Did Jesus claim to be God?

Did Jesus really claim to be God, or is that belief a misunderstanding of his words? Some words Jesus spoke reflect his humility as a servant and his limitations as a man. However, on other occasions Jesus made claims that only God could make.

Jesus didn’t parade around the hills of Judea shouting, “Hey everybody, look at me - I’m God!” On the other hand, neither did he go around proclaiming, “I am a teacher,” I am a prophet,” or, “I am the Messiah.” Yet his followers called him by each of those names. They also called him, “Lord.”

After the apostles died, several first and second century church leaders wrote of Jesus' deity. In fact, early church historian Larry Hurtado states, that from the very beginning of the church Jesus was worshipped as Lord along with God the Father.[1]

But what did Jesus Christ said say about himself. What did Jesus mean by the terms, “Son of Man,” and “Son of God?” If Jesus wasn’t God, why did his enemies accuse him of “blasphemy?” More importantly, if Jesus wasn’t God, why did he accept worship?

From Creator To Carpenter?

According to the New Testament, God came to earth in the Person of His Son, Jesus Christ.[2] The Bible teaches that Jesus is not a created being like the angels, but is the very Creator of the universe.[3] As theologian J. I. Packer writes, “The gospel tells us that our Creator has become our Redeemer.”[4]

The New Testament reveals that, in accordance with his Father's will, Jesus temporarily set aside his power and glory to become a tiny helpless baby. As he grew, Jesus worked in a carpenter shop, experienced hunger, got tired, and suffered pain and death like us. Then at age 30 he began his public ministry.

No. He was acting like the Christ. Christ is the object of Christian worship...not a Christian himself. Duh. He was a Jewish rabbi, who is also considered second entity in the Godhead of the Trinity. Your question is irrelevant.

Ye shall know them by the fruit that they bear.
Third divorce????????????????? When they find out the truth about you, they want out, so it seems. Always looking for foreign wood. LOL.

You really make yourself look stupid, when you make a comment on something you know nothing about; but then, it appears you've made a career out such behavior. :)

I know you're a corrections officer of a juvenile detention unit. And one paycheck away from welfare. With a GED, or equivalent. Big prospects and high hopes. I know that.
