Which adjective best describes Jesus? Duh.
If Jesus had been conservative, he wouldn't have been seen as a threat to Roman rule or Herod's jurisdiction. He was a rabble rouser, albeit "quietly", if not unconspicuously.
He challenged the Pharisees, and overturned the money tables and chastised the moneychangers in the temple. Sound conservative to you?

"Liberal" used to imply defense of individual rights, but today it has come to mean left wing.
"Conservative" is a good word that has been hijacked and debased. It used to mean defense of traditional values and refraining from foreign entanglements, even isolationism.
Today the word "conservative" has been stolen by advocates of big government, the very opposite of traditional conservatism. These neocons think they have been authorized by their God to co-opt the government to push their agenda at taxpayers' expense.
Instead of staying out of foreign entanglements, today's neocons are imperialists, trying to extend US dominance over foreign lands where it is not wanted.
Texas seems to breed these neocons, such as Bush and De Lay and Rove. Yet one of the most enlightened and real conservatives is a Texas Republican Congressman, Ron Paul. I don't know how he can survive there but he does.
If you are conservative in economics but liberal on social issues of free choice without state interference, you may be a Libertarian. Take their test and see.

I am a liberal because I define myself that way.
Liberals started this country. They formed a secular and humanist country as opposed to the theocratic and heretical aristocracies which populated the world at the time. They based their new country on the principles that rights are given by nature to the individual and not granted by crown or title.
Today's conservatives are trying to tear that down by inserting God into our secular government and creating an aristocracy of wealth to whom the rest of us will serve, which is just as bad (if not worse) than what we revolted against 235 years ago.
Again, you're an idiot. -poet
