On July 28, 2025, while visiting Edinburgh, Scotland, President Trump significantly shortened a previously announced 50-day deadline for Russia to agree to a ceasefire agreement with Ukraine. He narrowed that window to just 10 to 12 days, meaning that Russia needed to reach a deal by approximately August 7–9, 2025, or face consequences—including potential secondary sanctions and tariffs targeting both Russia and its trading partners. Trump framed this adjustment as a response to a lack of progress and expressed disappointment over continued Russian attacks on Ukrainian civilians AP NewsYahooABC NewsWESH.

In summary:

  • Original deadline: 50 days, set in mid-July, aiming for early September ABC NewsAP News.
  • Revised deadline: 10–12 days from July 28, i.e., August 7–9 AP NewsYahooWESHABC.
  • Potential consequences: Secondary sanctions and tariffs if no ceasefire deal is reached

Suddenly, no need for a ceasefire, we are back to where we were, and the threat of sanctions is gone.

The ultimate TACO.

Trump is worst negotiator in history. Promises made, promises broken.

Before going to Alaska he was showing an ounce of a spine and stated that Russia would face increased punishment if he did not come away with a cease fire. Trump drew a line in the sand.

Then he and Putin met face to face and it only took a few hours for Putin to get him to back down on everything.

Now Putin is free to keep attacking with the idea that at some point in the future, there will be a peace deal but until then keep on killing.

The deal that is being rumored, based on Trump saying this is now on Ukraine, is that Russia not only gets to keep all the lands they have taken but they get to extend it to lands not yet taken. And that Ukraine gets NOTHING in return but a meaningless security agreement that would require unanimous consent of all signatories on it including china, meaning Ukraine could not trust it as we almost never (maybe never) see any such unanimous agreement on such contentious topics.

A few minutes of looking into Putin's eyes is all it took for Trump to, once again be smitten and give up everything for nothing in return, just as when Melania renegotiates her prenups every few years.

Trump is pathetic...by far the worst president America has ever had.

Seems incredible that there are still people living here who care so little for our country that they continue to support him.

Let's go TACO! He's afraid of offending his senior business partner, Vladimir Putin.

As opposed to Biden , who gave Putin permission to attack, after denying Ukraine weapons with Obama.

Trump is trying hard to end Biden's War.

What did Obama/Biden do when Russia invaded Crimea? Oh yeah...nothing.

Putin admitted that he would not have invaded Ukraine if Trump were POTUS when he did.

What do you want? Nuclear war? Moron.

Trump wants Ukraine to give up the land Russia stole. He thinks that's the easiest path to peace. He's a spineless evil surrender monkey.

The Trump faithful are like the scorpion on top of the frog. They're fine with the destroying of our republic as long as their political enemies suffer in the process.
