But yes, I've watched Team Democrat (countless times) automatically claim that ANY "Republican tax break", no matter who is actually receiving the tax break, is a "tax break for the rich".
They do this because they know that their subscribers are incapable of self thought (so those people won't ever verify the false claim that is being made). They'll just parrot the "tax breaks for his wealthy friends" talking point because it came from a "trusted source". I've watched this scenario occur countless times as well. Let's just say that I have a leftist coworker who keeps me well-informed on any "two minutes hate" sessions that the fake news outlets hold on any given day.

You are forgetting several key things:
1. There is a first time for everything
2. Donald Trump didn't have the tariffs thing going previously.
3. Back before the advent of the income tax, tariffs were the source of revenue. There really were not many chances to do so in the past while there were not tariffs to bring in the revenue.
4. Donald Trump explained his goal with the tariffs, and he is getting to it, right before your eyes.
I don't think Donald Trump will get all income tax eliminated within the timeframe outlined by gfm7175, such that the IRS could be eliminated, but he can surely eliminate it for people whose annual income is under $200K, as gfm7175 outlined and within the timeframe specified.
