Fantasy and fiction are not research.
The reality of space has nothing in common with your star wars fantasy.
With an average temperature of 400° K2-18B would boil off any liquid water on the surface. Underground lakes could possibly exist - but again it's a matter of pure speculation with zero supporting evidence.
In 2010 - the identical claims were made that K2-18B had water - debunked as chlorine rather than water vapor. This is just fantasy by those who want to "bleeve"
Space is vast, there could be other life. This isn't it. And if there is life, it may be so different than our understanding that we would never recognize it.

The statement "Signs of possible life..." is not the equivalent of claiming "Evidence of possible life....", uneducated.

Of course, we can, and should, assume that there is life on K2-18b. After all, some self-described "astonomers" claimed to have "detected" some "hints" of "potential" ability to contain microbial life? When they put it that way, it's air-tight and compelling. I confess that they had me at "tipping point." Is anyone besides scientists even skeptical at all?
I mean, look, they even got a real bona-fide artist to create his conceptual rendition of what the planet could look like. You don't get much more certainty than that. Period. End of story.

I believe what credible experts say. In this case, they say there is a possibility that a planet with possible life supporting conditions has been discovered and that they are going to continue to diligently investigate it with the most advanced scientific methodology available.
