Scientists find "strongest evidence yet" of life on distant planet. "This could be the tipping point"

Your pissemestic attitude will not stop scientific wonder and research.

Fantasy and fiction are not research.

The reality of space has nothing in common with your star wars fantasy.

With an average temperature of 400° K2-18B would boil off any liquid water on the surface. Underground lakes could possibly exist - but again it's a matter of pure speculation with zero supporting evidence.

In 2010 - the identical claims were made that K2-18B had water - debunked as chlorine rather than water vapor. This is just fantasy by those who want to "bleeve"

Space is vast, there could be other life. This isn't it. And if there is life, it may be so different than our understanding that we would never recognize it.

You must be fun at parties and had fullifilled childhood.

ROFL

Speculation and fantasy are not evidence, noboalls. Spectral analysis can suggest the possibility of certain chemicals, but are far from definitive.

This is "how many angels dance on the head of a pin."

The statement "Signs of possible life..." is not the equivalent of claiming "Evidence of possible life....", uneducated.

That's precisely why the moniker "uneducated" fits you like a custom made glove.

It's obvious that if you're too stupid to understand the difference between what I said and what you tried to claim was my meaning, then whatever the level of your education might be, it falls woefully short of what an average adult's should be.

They don't know what kind of life, if any, it would be, but they are confident this planet has the necessary requirements to support life.....

Can we send him there?

Of course, we can, and should, assume that there is life on K2-18b. After all, some self-described "astonomers" claimed to have "detected" some "hints" of "potential" ability to contain microbial life? When they put it that way, it's air-tight and compelling. I confess that they had me at "tipping point." Is anyone besides scientists even skeptical at all?

I mean, look, they even got a real bona-fide artist to create his conceptual rendition of what the planet could look like. You don't get much more certainty than that. Period. End of story.

I saw a claim the other day that nuclear winter from WW3 will last 8-12 years.....not very many humans will survive that. As our so called leaders push for nuclear war time is running out to find life someplace else.

From the article:

But the implications could be huge, according to Nikku Madhusudhan, a Cambridge University astrophysicist and lead author of the study, published in The Astrophysical Journal Letters.

Madhusudhan told BBC News that he hopes to obtain the clinching evidence soon.

"This is the strongest evidence yet there is possibly life out there," he said. "I can realistically say that we can confirm this signal within one to two years."

So according to you, a bloviating JPP shit4branez, a team of Cambridge University astrophysicists are "some self-described "astonomers"", eh?

You must be actually trying to make yourself look like the brainless, braying trumper jackass everyone takes you for, because nobody could make themselves look as stupid as you're making yourself look accidentally.

:palm:

From the article: a Cambridge University astrophysicist and lead author of the study
He's at a university. It's not like he works for Northrop-Grumman as an astrophysicist. The guy is obviously not an astrophysicist, but is instead a man who spends his time writing "papers" which he pretends is research. Now he happens to be hyping up his stupid paper that expands on vagueness to new levels.

So according to you,
No, according to the article. You are gullible. You will believe anything you are told as long as it is sufficiently absurd. You probably belive in Global Warming.

Your sarcasm only managed to make you kook dumb.

yes.

but it's not about THe Epstein Files or GerryMandering. ...so ........

it has no value.

Oh that's right, I forgot... dumbass hillbilly trumper idiots like you have no truck with any-o thet thar yoo-nee-ver-sity edjee-kay-shun crap.

BTW, Cambridge is just "a university". They, along with their astrophysics dept, are ranked as one of the top five universities in the entire world.

But hey, I guess I should just instead listen to the idiotic rantings of some no account, low-minded, low-educated, trump ass-licker troll on a message board who takes out his frustration over never having been laid on people who, unlike you, actually have something worthwhile to say.
No, according to the article. You are gullible.
Nowhere in the article were the Cambridge researchers described as "some self described astronomers".

It's beyond pathetic how dropouts like you are so insecure about your lack of education that just quoting highly educated experts in an academic or scientific field, gets you triggered into making asses of yourselves over and over and over again.
You will believe anything you are told as long as it is sufficiently absurd.
I believe what credible experts say. In this case, they say there is a possibility that a planet with possible life supporting conditions has been discovered and that they are going to continue to diligently investigate it with the most advanced scientific methodology available.

You OTOH, believe anything you are told by a fat ass, semi-literate moron, real estate con artist, convicted felon criminal pervert and former TV game show host, who can barely speak coherently and who's bankrupted every business he's been involved in.

Speaking objectively in light of the above facts, most rational people would conclude that you are a blithering, half-assed halfwit.
You probably belive in Global Warming.
Yes, I do believe in AGW theory.

And unlike you, I can actually spell the word "believe" correctly.

Fucking imbecile. :palm:

Your sarcasm only managed to make you kook dumb.
To everybody but him.

He actually thinks it makes him look clever.

I can imagine the air of self-satisfaction that engulfs his empty but swollen head every time he belches out a batch of his usual faux erudition.

And even that was quickly refuted by real astrophysicists who pointed out the uncomfortable truth that at 400° there can be no liquid water on the surface, hence the possibility of life is virtually none.

This is also the same planet they used for the hoax of "finding evidence of life" back in 2010. They didn't even bother picking a different planet.

The highly ignorant such as you noballs, believe yourselves erudite and sophisticated, armed with your GED level education, rejecting the traditional religions. Mocking them as the opiate of the masses.

But you have the need to "bleeve". You are the traditional zealous hick who in the past would see angels and demons in everything. Now you see space aliens in everything. You've merely substituted what superstitions you follow.
