World Champions

Astros. Texans.

No wonder the once great game of baseball is dead.

Basically, if the Red Sox or Yankees don't win the World Series, the game of baseball
just drops further and further from social relevance.

I’ve watched so much baseball this summer. I subscribed to the MLB package and watched the Big Inning almost every night. When we went to watch Texas back in July the son and I discussed how if they could get some pitching they were going to be good down the stretch. When they got Montgomery from my Cardinals I told my wife they had a good shot during the playoffs. I told my son back during the summer that the Diamondbacks could make some noise as well.

I know the ratings for this World Series weren’t the best but I didn’t miss a game. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Happily every World Series isn’t the Yankees, Dodgers, Indians, et al. I know they get better television ratings when it is but we flyover people deserve a win every once in a while. :)

Thank you for mentioning the Indians;) and it really was a great series fun to watch very happy for the Rangers and their fans!!!

Lowest ratings ever I see....I did not even know that the so called World Series were going till a couple of days ago I am so out of sports....looks like others are joining me.

The politics, the corruption, the not caring about the quality of the games, the not caring about the fans, the high prices and the obscene contracts....No.

I'm a Johnny come lately fan. My brother has watched them for 53 years. A few years back they blew the World Series in on the last out of the last inning I thought he was going to have a stroke.

Correct.

One more indication that baseball is being flushed down the toilet.

Perhaps by the time they get rid of the Braves, the job will be complete.

I suspect that baseball was the first to self destruct....long ago they were making ill advised rule changes....and ruining the long term health of the league by pulling every dollar out of pockets that they could get away with.

I dont pay attention to sports but my X feed these days is constantly jabbering about idiotic NFL rule changes, and crap decisions by on the field officials and backroom NFL offices.

Yah, just a sign of the times, think of it this way, would you go up to a Native American you didn’t know and address him as “hey, Indian,” or better yet, “hey, redskin,” just shows some people find it offensive

Then don’t watch and quit bitching

I’d take any club in the American League East except Toronto, along with the Mets, Phillies, Pirates and of course the Cubs

I would offend myself making a remark like that.

"Redskins" was indeed beyond the pale, but most indigenous Americans weren't offended by the word "Indians" as a traditional baseball team name.
Notre Dame, a schools with a French name, isn't offended by "Fighting Irish."

The Cleveland franchise is was of the last four American League charter members,
along with the Red Sox, the White Sox, and the Tigers---not even the Yankees.

Of course, neither the American nor Nation League
even exists anymore
except as a trademarks of Major League Baseball.
People of every ethnicity, of course, have their snowflakes for whom righteous indignation is a full time job.

A group of native Americans are suing the Washington team Former known as the Redskins to change the name back to the Redskins. One of the people on your side of politics constantly refers to people as Whitey. Perhaps you should speak to him.

The Pirates go back to 1900, true enough, but they've been a small market teams for decades now.

They did built a nice ballpark to replace that monstrosity, Three Rivers, which wasn't as good as the Forbes Field it replaced.

It's nice that football and baseball don't have to share anymore.
