President Biden said Monday that he was at the World Trade Center site in New York City one day after the 9/11 attacks — despite his own autobiography placing him in DC.

Ground Zero in New York — I remember standing there the next day and looking at the building. And I felt like I was looking through the gates of hell,” Biden told US troops in Anchorage, Alaska, on the 22nd anniversary of the terrorist attacks.

“It looked so devastating because the way you could, from where you could stand. Shanksville, Pa., the Pentagon in Virginia — I spent many 9/11s in those hollow grounds to bear witness and remember those we lost,” he went on.

Moments later, the president claimed that he saw the immediate aftermath of American Airlines Flight 77 striking the Pentagon.

“The plume of fire that shot up in the sky in Pentagon [sic] — I remember seeing as I got off the Amtrak train on my way to work in the United States Senate,” Biden mused.



Biden wrote that he arrived in Washington on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, after American Airlines Flight 77 struck the Pentagon and “I could see a brown haze of smoke hanging in the otherwise crystal-clear sky beyond the Capitol dome.”

He wrote in the book, “I headed back to the Capitol the next morning” — Sept. 12, 2001.

The book doesn’t describe any trip to Ground Zero, much less on the day after the attacks as search and rescue work was ongoing — despite describing Biden speaking to University of Delaware students on Sept. 19, 2001, and visiting a mosque in Newark, N.J. two days after that.

Yeah, he's spent his entire time trying to say, "But so and so is 'worse'!" and still doesn't get that it is a confession rather than an excuse. I learned that particular bit in kindergarten. Well, from my mother when I was in kindergarten. "They did it too" is a confession, not an excuse. He's apparently never passed that grade or learned that bit of wisdom.

No, I'm not a good cook, but I do my best.
The Gestapo told me at the outset that if I ever wanted to eat at home,
I might consider learning how to cook.

Her mother and mine could both cook.
We grew up as family friends, she and I, almost like cousins.
Neither of us imagined that we'd see each other in a different light
as adults when I came home from the service.

Our parents, unknown to us, were apparently sure of it all along,
even as we dated other people through high school and college.
We obviously cared for each other as friends.

But the moms didn't teach us to cook.
They liked us being dependent on them.
Moms can be devious.

I really like to eat, however,
so when the Gestapo wouldn't learn,
I wasn't left with much of a choice.
