This interview will be played to the jury as it is an admission he took them and knew he took them and it speaks to why he refused to give them back even when demanded with subpoena.

It Trump basically saying the 'I can lie in response to the subpoena it can wait as i am really busy and do not want to hand that over YET'.

Excellent confession interview. Baier confronted Trump on the major issues. Very interesting to me was Baier confronting him about "the best people" who Trump now defames daily.

It's so funny when Trump makes claims that he will never repeat in a courtroom.
 
Fox has discovered that backing Trump is bad for business. They finally did their jobs.
Baier and Hume talked on Fox after the interview and agreed that Trump was incoherent. Trump did a terrible job and deflected away from answering questions. Those guys sold their reputations to back all Trump all the time narratives. Now like other Repubs, they are understanding Trump is through. They are moving on and are trying to clean up their messes. It is too late for people who think news talking heads should be honest. They have lied for Trump since he ran the first time ignoring his lack of respect for the law and the presidency.

He does not have to.

The prosecutors will simply play these video statements by Trump which are admissible.

So if Trumps lawyer tries to argue he did not know he had those records... they roll the tape, where Trump is here saying he knew but kept them because they were intermixed with his personal stuff and he did not have time to sort them yet and he 'did not want to give them back'.

Trump believes 'they were intermixed with my personal stuff' and 'I did not want to give them back', is a proper legal counter to 'lying in a sworn statement in reply to a subpoena'.


'Yes your honor what i had them swear out and write was a lie under oath and is obstruction of justice', but it was justified as 'i did not want to give them back'. Case closed. We rest my case. No getting around the 'I did not want to give them back', defense'. Checkmate prosecution!!

OMG we can only hope he does. We know the Prosecutors are dreaming and wishing he does.

If all of his counts in the indictments would have a max sentence of 100 years currently, by the time Trump was done testifying and you add in all the new confessions and perjury statements he would be at 10,000 years.


Trump is just hopelessly stupid and every lawyer he has had says what a dictator it would be for him to take the stand or be deposed in any way he face legal liability for a lie. He is so stupid he only makes the other sides case that much stronger.

If Trump takes the stand, he either pleads the Fifth, which includes restrictions and also begs the question "Why take the stand just to look guilty?" or risks perjury.

I do not think is hyperbole to say 'he would perjure himself' as an absolute statement. Also that he would make numerous statements that would make him look even more guilty and potentially lead to other indictments.

Trump is not Bill Clinton who could pull off a deception and out smart his opponent. Trump is the leader of this derps and is an avatar for his derps. He is every bit as stupid as they are. Again no hyperbole intended.

Trump, MTG, Boebert, and all the leaders the derps are choosing have to pray their crimes are never discovered as they are all so dumb, they simply cannot mount any defense.

IIRC, MTG was on the list of politicians asking Trump for a pardon.

Trump really believes he is so smart that he can convince a jury of anything he wants. He failed bigly at Fox last night. That was his station for 7 years. Now they want him to tell the truth. That will never happen. Trump actually thinks we are to believe he put his clothes in boxes of classified documents. Trump does not touch his clothes. he has handlers and maids. Can rightys think of a better place to put clothes? That is such a stupid thing for Trump to say and shocking that he thinks he can sell that to the people.

Trump seems to be losing touch with reality. Ivanka has already backed off. Melania refuses to campaign with him. I believe Junior is about to cut a plea deal implicating Big Daddy in an attempted coup. Erica? I think Eric wants Daddy's attention so much that he'll go to prison for him.

Trump thought about giving all the people around him Pardons. All the Jan 6th people including Giuliani and the Proud Boys, etc.

But then apparently, he was advised that if they were all pardoned they could then be forced to testify against him. They would have no 5th amendment defense. So they are free of crimes unless they lie for Trump, and then suddenly they can now be prosecuted and go to jail. Even most Trump loyalist would not do that once free of all crimes with the pardon. To suddenly do a crime to just protect Trump.

So Trump decided they all needed to share the same peril to protect him. And that is why we now see so many of them going to jail. Trump made that call, that they might have to go to jail, to protect him, thus no pardons.

When Roger Ailes was part of the Nixon administration they realized then, that they needed to created a propoganda news network that could push aside any truth that was indicting or bad for right wing politicianas and causes.

Sadly for them it was only AFTER Nixon did his crimes and Ailes left to help found Fox News, that it existed.

Agreed that's part of it. He also thought about pardoning himself, which may or may not fly with SCOTUS, with the added problem that a pardon is an admission of guilt.

And he is doing that sniffling thing more often and loudly, which speaks to him being back addicted to his drug of choice, Pseudoephedrine, that he has typically got thru the UK strong version of Sudafed, restricted in the US.

You will know this to be true soon enough if his mush mouth and slurring of words returns. It was very evident during the stress of the Mueller investigation where he slurred badly for some period after.
