Aldrich got some superficial injuries, while being disarmed of his gun. That being said, some minor skin abrasions are the least you can get after killing people with a gun. Aldrich should be grateful he was not killed.

Killing Aldrich would have been a reasonable use of force, given the fact that he was killing other people... But they did not. He was nowhere near beaten to death, and is not a "vegetable". He was treated for a neck injury, and released from the hospital. He has no brain injuries.
